Why play this over warframe? Or even Destiny for that matter? At least those 2 games are established and Forsaken seemed to be well received. Still very much a wait and see here as that looked ok but nothing that would draw me away from the other 2.
Destiny is alright but i prefer third person view... and Warframe? that game is so damn confusing. i have no idea what the hell is going on and what i'm supposed to do.
i'm hoping this one won't be like that and it also looks way cooler to me.
oh and as i understand it they're not going to do the whole sequel route that destiny is doing either so that's a win in my book.
Either having friends to help or watching a guide helps a lot to sort things out for Warframe.

Our default position should now be this is another FO76/Bless/(Insert game here) until we have seen the reviews. That is the horrible climate that has been created, it may seem an overreaction but if you want to feel you have bought a duff game every other purchase than go ahead and put money in now.
What a horrible way to live your life. Default to crying, bitching and being negative. Maybe it's time to find a new hobby.
Did you actually read what he wrote? He's advocating being an informed consumer. Where did you get crying, bitching, and being negative?
Sure did...let's break it down since you missed it.
"Our default position should now be this is another FO76/Bless/(Insert game here) until we have seen the reviews. "
Here is is saying the DEFAULT position should be it's a bad game and to complain , bitch and be negative.
"That is the horrible climate that has been created, it may seem an overreaction"
Here he even admits this may seem like an overreaction.
Now go back and reread the entire thing very slowly if my breakdown didnt help you.
That is not what he said at all. He said that the default position is that it is another Fallout 76. You extrapolated the part about complaints, bitching and being negative. Where did he say that in his post ? You're trying to assign behaviour where none was indicated.
An overreaction admission is to do with the horrible climate. That's normal too. I think you're merely trying to make up things he never alluded to.
FO 76 is widely considered a bad game on the internet, people on the internet have been none stop bitching and complaining about it. He is advocating that be the DEFAULT position players should take for new games.
I'm not assigning behaviors I'm stating what behaviors he wants the DEFAULT to be based on his own comment.
He basically said that we should be skeptical of marketing. Which...hello? I supposed it was a common sense, but...don't take a word of PR teams(rather of anyone, but especially of those that stand to gain something by the act) for granted without a proof. That's all.
That's a fair take on his comment. My take was just as fair. I dont have to agree with you guys its ok.
This game is looking more and more like a Destiny clone. Perhaps they will surprise us with their version.

I always wanted a 3rd person Destiny. So far I am liking what I seeing. I haven't seen anything ground breaking but it seems like it would bring me some good times.

To provide the most reasonable response I can, I'll say this. Perhaps the time has come that we should be skeptical of new releases, even in the IPs we love.
The following IPs have had disastrous releases this year alone: Fallout, Metal Gear, Battlefield.
The following IPs have had disastrous releases last year: Star Wars Battlefront, Mass Effect, Marvel vs Capcom
The following IPs have died in the last few years alone: Mass Effect, Metal Gear, Dead Space, Hitman, Deus Ex, Silent Hills.
And these are just the ones I know of. Consumer confidence in the IPs that form the foundation of our medium is being rapidly shaken by bad games and entirely canceled IPs. Perhaps we should be more skeptical of games, even in IPs we love, and avoid giving games our money until they have been reviewed as quality entries, until such a time as the industry decides to start treating its established IPs with the respect that they deserve.
What the bloody hell are you talking about?
How are considering these games "disasters" or "dead"?
No conclusive sales numbers for Fallout 76 or Battlefield V yet so calling them disasters is premature. SW Battlefront 2 sold very well and was a huge financial success. Mass Effect Andromeda sold well and modest financial success.
Mass Effect series is not dead(on hiatus until after Anthem and Dragon Age), Metal Gear series is not dead(Konami just renewed patents), Hitman series is not dead(Hitman 3 is being discussed), Deus Ex series is not dead(on hiatus until after Avengers game).
Seems like you are making up lies and just saying whatever you want to create a narrative that you think is real.

yeah i've watched some guides and they've left me scratching my head even more :P like seriously they expect you to play with wiki pages up all the time? what's the fun in that? i prefer to play games not research them.

Mass Effect is on ice indefinitely. If that has changed until "after Anthem and Dragon Age," prove it. Also, successful games don't have their dlc canceled and studio liquidated.
Hitman 3 being discussed is great news. I had not heard of it. Regardless, the franchise rights were sold by Square Enix - not a measure of success.
Metal Gear is dead for all intents and purposes. Kojima is gone. The last game (Survive) was a financial and critical laughing stock. Konami's only use for the franchise is Pachinko machines at this point.
The Deus Ex statement wasn't a lie. It was outdated knowledge. As is, the future of the franchise is still uncertain beyond token statements that "it's not dead, but don't expect a game soon," according to the most recent articles I've found.
Fallout 76 sales are down over 80% from Fallout IV according to early sales numbers. Successful releases don't get their prices slashed by nearly half in less than a month.
Battlefield V early physical sales are half of those of Battlefield One from last year. Again, successful releases don't get their prices slashed in half in less than a month.

I had fun once, it was terrible.

Seems to me that you're just squirming.
