But so what? You can install more than one program on a computer at a time. You can even have multiple programs running at the same time.
I'm guessing your browser looks like this.
Nope. How did you jump from "multiple programs open at once" to "multiple browser toolbars"? You do realize that there are programs that don't go through browsers, I hope. Anyway, here's a screenshot:
I honestly hope discord dies.....only reason I even use it is because 90% of gamers use it for voice now. It's a hog on system resources, runs like crap, crashes, and snoops on your system.....I would rather pay for ts3 then use discord but try convincing any other gamers to install teamspeak. Oh well, with any luck they will sell out or go belly up

In the short term : Free games and most likely some cheaper prices to attract you to said new platform, That is if you are brave enough to trust "Discord" or some other Hooptie-Do platform with your personal information and CC number . Also no refunds or review system, modding or message boards.
In the Long term : 40 launchers on your desktop each with their own subscription options similar to EA and VIP access. Basically before you even buy a game you will have some sort of VIP option to play said game a week or two early if you pay the membership or VIP fee . Also expect the 60 dollar norm for said AAA release to probably jump to 70 or 80 . What people in this thread don't get is this isn't competition that will drive prices down its all about EXCLUSIVITY . Each platform will have their own exclusives and charge whatever they want.
... So long as their exclusives are worthy of the price they're asking consumers to pay.
I don't have Hulu. Or HBO Go. Or Amazon Prime. I have Netflix. When I wanna watch an HBO show, I binge after all episodes are uploaded and watch the entire season for $15 bucks.
That's nice. I get to pick and choose what interests me, pay for a month to watch it, then cancel if there's no new episodes or shows I wanna see. Sort of like I used to do (and still do when possible) with MMORPG subs. Of course, my streaming example requires a straight sub system, which nobody seems to want to come back.
This would be much more of an actual issue if it were the same company trying to peddle multiple sets of content, such as Netflix carving out all documentaries and making you pay a separate sub to get that Netflix-crested content. That sound familiar, too?
