    LOLZ
    There will be no microtransactions...
    There will be MACROTRANSACTIONS, MWAHAHAHA!

I dont belive it!  ALL their previous games have DLC and POE2 has Season pass. No optimization while price goes higher and higher.
POE2 Obsidian edition is $75!  JUST A INDI GAME!

Seriously, DOS1 and 2 has NO Microtransactions, not to mention FREE defenitive update.

    P.S. Who did skyforge?

If they're serious about never having microtransactions, they should make it part of the purchase agreement... "full-refunds if we ever add microtransactions to the game".

It's a single player game. Pillars of Eternity 2 doesn't have microtransactions so why would they add them to TOW?
...probably because Obsidian going bankrupt would suggest their 'no microtransactions' policy didn't work well for them.

Probably because they were bought instead of going bankrupt. Keep that spin going, your pathetic job relies on it. ;)
You are just showing your ignorance...

Obsidian was on verge of bankrupcy since cca 2011, mild recepetion of PoE 2 just finally broke their neck.

Obsidian is a perfect example how focusing on 'niche' games even despite high quality, isn't viable business model. Besides that, Obsidian did lots of 'side jobs' to keep themselves afloat, altough most were unlucky.

It's a very simple question with an easy binary answer.
No, your mind is that simple if you believe the question being so binary...

Yes, it does, the rest of your post is just a consequence of that...

Tim Cain is, always has been, and always will be the GOAT of crpgs. This cannot be disputed by any sane, rational, thinking person.

I just tried to find information on release date.  I checked a couple sites and all I saw listed was "sometimes in 2019."  Is this all that is known?  Not even a target quarter or anything?

Anyone else feel as old as like your grandparents right now when they used to reminence on the days of like 25c/gallon gas? I keep thinking to myself "Back in my day, we used to pay X and get the entire game. Back then games didn't come out until they had everything ready as well. For different colored costumes and extra fighters/modes, we used to unlock them by doing something crazy which was playing the game, none of this DLC stuff the kids keep talking about now-a-days."

i don't really care if  there are micro transactions as long as it's only cosmetic stuff. and as long as they don't put most of their manpower on that stuff.
You are not helping the future of gaming by not caring how developers make games for us.

The only reason DOS 2.0 didn't have microtransactions is that back in 1983, Microsoft hadn't figured out how to implement them in a world that didn't yet have Internet commerce.  (Yes, I can miss the point of a post quite well.)

Now here's hoping that the game itself is worth playing, because if it isn't then the whole thing will become another part of the "oh look you need microtransactions to survive" narrative.

What's up with all of the cynical garbage in this thread?  People like me support companies who don't do things like microtransactions.  This company hasn't done them before.  Other than sneering, what evidence is there that they are lying?

    Incoming,another empty world empty game.
Quit making these cheap ass corner cutting apocalypse type games just to reinforce why the world is so empty.
The cutscenes give us another hint that this developer is just a corner cutting  low effort dev with a simple closeup of the face, yeah pretty weak effort.I want to see your character in the cutscene and the surroundings, instead they have removed you from the game into a mini sub program/CS,VERY cheap work.
Microtransactions...LMAO what the heck would they sell, the game looks like it will be empty, sell napsacks and Fortnite bunny hopping, like i can't even imagine what they could sell.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I think she was leaning on the context of the single player game the entire thread and news feature is about.

Suzie certainly didn't seem, to me, to be referencing anything other than TOW with her posts here.

She wrote, that it will 100% not have microtransactions because "it's a single player game".

And I showed her, that there were SP games in the past, which had micro-crap.
