I practically can hear the sound of champagne bottles being opened in offices of Warframe and The Division 2 devs. I bet they are celebrating since their games will receive major sales boost after Anthem demo weekends.
Played for the last 3 hours or so. Was laggy and the rubberband was strong. When it WAS smooth, it played well. I'm on an Alienware 17 R5 at ultra settings and it looked good. Flight was MUCH better than the last test. I imagine they'll have it wired tight by Sunday. This is a demo after all. Not the finished product.
Everyone thinks VIP means everything's going to be perfect and everything's going to be launch ready. Morons. When was the last time a AAA developer gave us anything for free, that worked perfectly and had no login issues. If there is one, it's not worth mentioning. So stop bitching about it, and stop buying everything when it's announced. It's your fault for shilling out the dollars for it and then being disappointed when it turns into an early access test/demo.
That's all video game players are now. Everything is about hate, hate, hate and laugh when it fails. Scroll back up and read the posts. Laughing at the problems they're having and bitching.
Hilarious reading chat in AJS stream,so many dumb, naive people defending the game THINKING there will be some magical DIFFERENT game on release lol.
You can see the pain in Joe's demeanor, the game is as i figured zzzzzzzzzzzzzz,hub/mission/shoot stuff.
As shared on his stream by Joe and bros, everything 2018 was a disappointment.NO STORY just a hub mission shooter with ONE gimmick, you can FLyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...weeeeeeeee,i am so buying this game so i can fly...ummm yeah right.
The funny part is the very first 20 seconds i thought wtf, they are repeating the same model over and over, like 3 consecutive npc's were identical, then 2 secs later, joe's says the exact same thing. The creature Ai looked horrible but i guess there is difficulty settings but these guys playing on hard mode looks like simple mode.
To me,looks like over hyped crap, but i knew this the first video i saw of the game.I only watched Joe's stream because i often watch his streams but also wanted to make sure my assumptions were correct and they are and the game is very weak.

Oh look I m an idiot who hates all games, so I ll comment on a game that's having issues on a VIP weekend (Like it s never happened before). Yoo are the biggest, negative idiot I ve ever not had the privelage of reading your non stop negative dribble in my life.
I just logged for the evening. I was rubber-banding all over the place. Overall impressions were that it was fun to play. Even on my old Asus laptop I bought in 2013, I thought the landscapes were beautiful. The flying is fun. They have some bugs to iron out (connection issues, rubber-banding, long load screens), but it feels fun to play. My wife and I have little to no experience with FPS, but my brother and best friend are both beasts. I'm hoping they carry me and my wife. Hope everyone else has fun with it!
Having people moaning about criticism of the game (without any specific counter argument) is pretty bizarre. Are there a bunch of resentful game developers lurking here?
Bioware used to be known for story driven games. They're now making what looks like a generic shooter. EA is an awful company with a long record of predatory marketing. Why wouldn't I be skeptical? If you want to change minds, something more than "haters Hur dur" is needed.
- Loads too slow when entering the actual game more than 10 seconds on a regular (HDD) others say on (SSD) it takes even longer.
- Destiny 2 actually loads much faster on a regular (HDD).
- Freezes and gets stuck in ram / memory on alt + f4 / game closure.
Unplayable, hopefully on launch they give players like at least 48 hours to test and see if the game has been fixed was impressed with the instant loading of main menu, but now the game loading is just horrid.
Maybe the game is using Denuvo, though I haven't heard anything about it and I asked someone said it doesn't.
Don't forget about Dark Spore !
Remember people, they likely won't have MTX available to look at in the demo. Don't pre-order until you can get a good look at the MTX. Also, don't buy it until they do. They could easily pull a Call of Duty and introduce MTX a month after launch after reviews have already gone out.
It still freezes on my desktop while leaving the town. Installed it on my gaming laptop and no freeze, went right into free roam. While firing my weapon at a boss, the camera would spin around in circles, snapping into a top-down view. I tried it a little while longer and logged out. Will try it again tomorrow, probably.

Its funny that you mention mtx and no one is talking about BF5. Not even the damn practice mode was available on launch for crying out loud. There's just way too much desperation on the matter these past 5+ years.

I think the problem is that they gave us a 6 week old build and not only that but the game is out in two weeks for Origin plus members. Feb 15 is game day for people who pay $20 a month. That isn't a lot of time to fix issues. However i think that these are just how these games are going to launch. I gurantee the same thing will happen with the Division 2
Anthem, is Bioware doing something different so I can see lot of problems while they figure things out. Division 2 is basically a continuation of the first Division, done on a larger scale so I don't expect major problems. It's more like making ME:1, then making ME:2 or making Destiny then Destiny 2. I don't remember major problems with D2 and quickly leveled up my three characters after launch.
The first Division had major problems that took awhile to work out. So it will probably be the same with Anthem.

Yup. It is pretty common practice to release games unfinished now unfortunately. The MTX being unavailable at launch is a genius move by companies tbf, but it is absolutely horrible for consumers. Anthem could release with no MTX, get glowing reviews; then a month later be selling you boosters, loot boxes, and target reticles with smiley faces on them. Hell, they could avoid any "convienence" type MTX for a month but still release cosmetics only in the cash shop initially. There are unfortunately no rules in place to stop this kind of thing from happening. They could even claim the game won't be p2w, then 6 months later change it to be so.
You can actually see every decision in this game, just like every other game released by EA, being centered around how well they can advertise it. Glad I didn't fall for the hype again.

They have been very open about what kind of MTX will be in the game for six months now. They have been open about it on Reddit AMA's, live streams, etc... It is one of the main reasons I pre-ordered. They are doing what PoE did. Free content updates for life but cosmetics and additional mech suits will cost real world money. Cosmetics will range from $15 onward from what has been leaked but I think that is fine as long as the game is good. If the keep they word and do release a small content drop a week and a big one a month then I would be okay buying a skin every few months or Mech suit every six.
It would not be the first time EA has deliberately lied to their community. You shouldn't put so much faith in a game. Wait for reviews, like any sane person would. Even Bioware doesn't have a good track record in recent years...and this is a multiplayer only game; something they have never done before. I mean seriously, what was the last mega-hit Bioware had? Mass Effect 2?
There is no reason to pre-order unless you get some kind of discount and even then it is a gamble. Head starts are not worth it either, since a head-start doesn't really matter if the game has any legs.
Also, as a side note, this is coming from someone who literally has Commander Shepard in his icon, lol. That is how little I trust Bioware now. It's a shame, cause I want to trust them again, but EA has ruined them as far as I can tell. Everything from stripping out content to put in as a pre-order bonus (ME3/ME2) to forcing multiplayer into every title (Dragon Age:Inq, ME3, Andromeda) at the cost of quality of the single player...has really made me think Bioware as a good company is done. I used to buy all their games site unseen ;( I hope I am super wrong about Anthem.

I for one am giving EA the benefit of the doubt only because I don't think they are going to pull a Battlefront 2 again. I don't think they can afford to. I also am not going to start blaming other companies for what Activision is doing. As far as I know they are the only ones who are adding MTX's in there game after launch. Obviously I can be wrong on this but they are the only company that I have heard doing that right now.
If I am wrong about Anthem and if they do in fact lie about the MTX in the game then I won't buy another EA game again. This is there last chance from me and only I pre-ordered because its Bioware and the only game I didn't like from them is Andromeda. I think even ME3 gets a bad wrap for that terrible ending. Which yes, is a disappointment, but doesn't ruin the game as a whole.
Just FYI, they pretty much pulled a Battlefront 2 again with Battlefield 5. Different kinds of problems, but they really EA'd that one up. You are right about Activision, for sure, but in reality the only reason that no other big publisher is doing this yet is because it has not caught on yet. If EA sees that Activision does quite well despite the negative response to the addition of MTX, you can bet your butt that they will do the same thing. There is still nothing stopping them from adding P2W MTX to the game later though. That isn't uncommon, unfortunately. We see it more in MMOs though then anything else.
I also do agree about ME3, I wasn't a fan of the ending, but I thought the game was pretty great still. Hell, I actually liked Inq as well, but it had some issues that I felt could have been ironed out if they had more time on the SP. My issue is that between the mess of Andromeda and the other issues just piling up I am just waiting to see what reviews are like and what people say about the cash shop.
I am actually super worried that Anthem will tank as well, because this is EA we are talking about. I could see them killing Bioware if this happens. That would be really sad I want it to do well more then anything.

I agree with everything you have said above believe me and the thing that hurts the most is Bioware has said if Anthem fails they won't be closed down. They didn't say if EA would let them work on DA4 or there own games. My bet is EA would make them part of the collective and they would be stuck working on assests and the like for Battlefield 6 or whatever.
I am also pretty bitter about this whole "Week of early access" non-sense for paying 15$ extra, like, wtf.
Gold wrapped turd, soulless cash grab to get in that warframe destiny money. I feel sad for what Bioware used to be, now this. No story, no character development. The melee combat is a joke. I'm glad I got into the demo to solidify the hard pass.
