    * facepalms *

    Another mount....

More and more of the things that Blizzard does just feel like money grabbing over player engagement in the game.

WoW is a parody of itself now... every so often I miss my spacegoat, but not enough to want to go back.

I can honestly say I feel so much better since I broke up with WoW. I enjoyed the Anthem demo this past weekend, which is a game I would have never tried if I was still playing WoW. I've dusted off ESO, considered FFXIV, played some Tyranny, the Witcher 3, STO, and Odyssey. I'm not gonna lie...I miss my raid buddies, but it feels good to read these articles and see other news about WoW and think of it as a train wreck. I watch it on the news and think I am so glad I don't take the train to work anymore.

I think it has a slot on top into which you can insert coins, to save for a day when a better mount is available.

I actually like that flying pig, but if ActiBlizzion thinks i'm going to pay $25 for a mount in a game i had to purchase and pay a subscription just to log in... They can suck that piggy dry.

As long as they keep releasing mounts in the store that look like that, I'm fine with it. Mounts get more ridicules looking as time go on.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Meh, never bought a single thing from their cash shop, but since its existence has no effect on me whatsoever, I'm not even the tiniest bit irritated by it. If they were smart, they'd donate $5 to charity from EVERY cosmetic sale, not just occasional ones. Then not even the most cynical and jaded ex-players could knock them for it.

i think its disgusting that they have a cash shop in a subscription game but since no one is directly competing with them by putting out something decent they might as well get as much cash as they can. i keep trying to play it but it is just missing something the early game and expansions had and i cant get into it lol. could be im just to old and played it way to much in the past though.

How anyone can defend subscription fees when the poster boy of subscription fees still has a cash shop with exhorbitant prices is beyond me.

Subscription fees don't protect you from anything, least of all cash shops. They do nothing for you as a consumer anymore.

I also love the slyly implied "wtf are they doing" in the opening line of the summary.  @SBFord, thanks for sneaking that one in. :D

I'm fine with a cash shop that is just cosmetics and boosts past old content. I can and do ignore those in every game I play. At the risk of sounding like a FFXIV fan boi you can't even access their cash shop from in game.

Cosmetics would only ever be a problem for me if developers gimp things in the game to make people spend. Like Black Desert only offering simple or downright ugly gear for free.

You can be fine with it, but what are you gaining by paying them a subscription fee? You still paid for the base game. It isn't covering content updates because they still sell you said content in expansions. It isn't ensuring that you get all the content in the game, because they still have content (cosmetic or otherwise) in the cash shop.

In what way does the subscription benefit you? I don't see any benefit to one, at all.

But you can get underwear with stats on it in the BDO shop...just sayin
I'm also not defending BDO. I don't even think it's a good game, let alone a consumer friendly one.

I think Blizzard would straight up admit this is a money grab. I can forgive it though since the cosmetic offering in WoW isn't based around the cash shop in any way. There's literally 100s of cool mounts you can get in game... something that a game like ESO, for example, couldn't claim.

.. and that is one ugly mount. I wouldn't be seen dead on that thing even if I got it free in my mail box.
