Final Fantasy 14 map size?

Does anyone know the map size of Final Fantasy 14? I cant seem to get a straight answer when i google it. For people whoi play it, what does it feel like comparable to the other main big MMO;s currently?

    Tiny in the ARR maps, opens up more later on in HW.

    in regards to other main MMOs does it feel big or small?

    Space in a game is all about utilization. I recall Lord of the Rings Online that made extraordinary use of the available space by hiding valleys and whole areas off a tiny aperture that looked like nothing and twisting paths so that the game seemed larger than it actually was. Large open empty spaces do nothing for me.
