That's some fantastic news! I just hope they don't make the Darkest Dungeon as "hard" (more like super annoying to use a whole new squad per darkest dungeon) as the first one.

DD is one of the best games to come out in years , and the community is pretty excited for its sequel .. Great News

    Great news!

Some things I'd like to see in DD2.
    • Expand beyond 4 active characters at a time.  5 or 6 would be good, and make the 'Move Back/Forward' more important.  Most fights were pretty static.
    • Build, manage and save teams.  There's no real need to put a group together each and every time.  Let me simply select one of my existing teams.
    • More Attack and Move combos.  The fights tended to be static.  More fluidity in movement would be nice.
I hope this one won't be too long in hitting Steam, so I can get playing.  This is probably the first game in years that I would like to jump into early, even if that means paying full price.

I hope they make the followup harder but less grindy. Once you got used to the game missions became fairly simple and deaths became extremely rare.

I actually bought DD1,one of the worst purchases in my entire life,i wouldn't give it a 1/10.

VERY predictable, very cheaply made, there is no upside in any of it's design.
Now does that mean they can't come back with a better effort,no it does not,but my hunch is same engine, same code, same systems with a few small changes to change a full game price.
Geesh and i didn't even touch on the graphics and being 2D side scroller,it is just a real low budget game that i not only gave up on ,i deleted it with no intention of ever going back.

i have shelves full of 80's 90's games i would put well above this series,so yeah that is how low i rate it,VERY low.

I put this game up there with that cheap rpg "Stardew" that received too much attention and too many sales for what it is worth. These games would have been considered DECENT at best  20 years ago,but now a days, they are like vaporware that someone is trying to sell us 1980/90's games.

I can't even remember what i paid for it,was like 40 bucks i think,my god i paid 15 for my favorite rpg of all time and got tons of expansion packs all in one and this paltry game was 40 bucks,i feel disgusted i was that dumb.

While I enjoyed the game itself.. I can honestly say I was not a fan of how it ended, but, I'd still be buying and playing DD2.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.

Way too much RNG in this game for it to be anything that resembles anything near fun.... I'll stick to the casino to waste my time with luck...

Not every game is a "skill game."

I'm imagining you playing monopoly, landing on Park Place and tossing the whole board all the while screaming "stupid game!"

I thought DD was fun for a couple of weeks but it was easy to max out characters and got pretty repetitive after awhile.

I hated DD but I respect it for being a quality game for people that like that sort of thing.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
