"EA still not being able to make the right choices when it comes to an online title."
This is such a hypocritical statement.
First people criticize EA for having loot box in battlefront 2. Then the same people plays and praises apex legend, with loot boxes. What does this tell EA? That people are full of s**t.
Because BF2 loot boxes were straight up power upgrades that gave significant, objective advantages to players such as increased turn rate in starfighters and increased rates of fire.
Which not a single player was able to spend real $ on in BF2 because they were taken out before launch.
I think some of you are confusing EAware with Bioware.
Those quality, well written, and story-driven games that "Bioware" is known for was 20 years ago. The people that made Bioware what it was, have moved on years ago.
Know what else is 20 years old? Picking a head in character customization.
Javelin customization is basically just changing colors.
*Note:
Yes, I know more customization options will come later. We saw them all in the demo. My question is, why is it ok, to strip away content (MVP) to release later as new content? They probably have a years worth of content sitting on a shelf and still charged $60 up front for it.
6 years development. $60. I'm not going to list all the other problems, because they are literal memes now. Everyone knows what they are.
So for anyone still hanging on to Anthem, I have to question why.
Is it because they think Anthem is a better game? Are they just fans of a long gone studio? Or are they just trying to justify wasting $60?
Easy one to answer. Flying and killing shit in this game is just plain fun, and many of us did not spend $60 on it. Origin Premium Service. Your implication is there a very few "hanging on" to this game. I am having not trouble finding games so I would certainly question that assumption.
Yep. It's just fun. I like the gear/loot grind, feels very Diablo - just queue up the highest difficulty you an handle and go to town mass murdering stuff. Hopefully get a sweet upgrade or two, and those upgrades tend to completely change how you build & play your character.
Does it need more content? Of course, all games do - especially online as a service games i.e. Anthem/Destiny.
Anyone who has played such a game knows that grinding + repetition are part of the game. Anyone whose played an MMO should be used to that.
The great thing about these MMO lite games is that there is no sub fee, so you can max out/burn through etc. all the content and loot grinding you want, take a break from the game, and come back for the next content drop.
I know for me I'm going to keep the Anthem grind going strong through next week, until Division 2 comes out, then I'll be playing that a whole heck of a lot.
But when Anthem has a world event or big patch or content drop etc. I will definitely be back, because I'm excited to see where the story goes.
We've been shown a small slice of a much larger world, and anyone whose finished the story knows there are more threats out there.
I just hope Bioware doesn't abandon post-launch support/content like they did with Andromeda.
There is so much potential i'm just pretending I'm in a beta.
So do you think paying full price (rewarding them) for a Beta is going to encourage studios to put out better games next time or continue releasing MVP games?
What AAA game is released that isn't in a similar state?
It's just the nature of the beast now. It isn't 1998 anymore where you release a cartridge and that's it.
Nearly every game released today, from battle royal to single player RPG to everything in between has day one patches and post-launch bugs and updates/patch cycles and DLC add ons etc.
Welcome to the year 2019! Though it's been this way for a few years now, perhaps it's time to remove the rock you've been hiding under?
well I read in a new site, ps4 peeps can get a refund, sony is doing so, btw so now bioware is going bethesda way? when game breaking bugs and perfomance issues is a feature?

1. Not a single console has bricked 2. it only has affected a small % of PS owners 3. Bioware has posted a half dozen messages on their internal sites/reddit as well as EA help forums instructing people how to fix (you just do a hard rest of PS and 4. several other games had the same problem on PS4 (including Red Dead Redemption 2) 5. perm fix coming in Tuesday's patch

And why were they removed before launch?
Because it was a bad idea that players in beta really didn't like, and the dev team wisely backed it out before launch?
Is this supposed to be a "gotcha" question cause that's kind of common sense. Feature A is in game, players absolutely hate feature A, we should remove feature A.

No its just that whether people purchased those things or not is irrelevant. They we're developed.

EA put their toe in the tub and it buuurned.
So we fault companies for bad ideas and we fault companies for realizing the idea was bad and changing it?
So the standard we look for is perfection without question from inception?
Man, must suck to be you.
I feel really bad for the guys that made BF2 because the game is/was great and only got better. I put a lot of hours into it and really, really enjoyed it.
Completely unfair what the trolls of the internet (i.e. people like you) did to a great game.
Sure EA made a bad mistake thinking that was a good idea, but they owned up to it, even doing so very, very publically on the world stage.

Are you for real?
No I don't blame the soldiers, never have... never will. I blame the commander in chief and his generals.
