Who the hell makes a tutorial on buying and downloading a game? Christ Roberts apparently. Don't worry that we are still in ALPHA after 6+ years of development. What's important is that you keep paying us money so we can continue to be in ALPHA indefinitely.

But... it is a lie. Beta is planned Q2 2020, not never or indefinitely. 6 years for project which started with 12 guys, no pipelines, no studios and 6M$... and ready to deliver in few quarters two triple-A....

By the way, do you work for free? because the +500 employees don't. It is fascinating to see some complaining about a +220M$ budget over 6 years when publishers are doing Billions $ every single year without providing nothing but re-skinned version of their past Triple-A.

Keep lying man. This game development is doing well :)

Fuck me, 2011 was 6 years ago?
In that case hello from the future, it still aint released.

End of quickstarter was Nov. 2012 not 2011... and yes 6 years is nothing for Two triple-A starting from scratch.
Beta in Q2 2020. Not never.
Get your facts straight please, in Oct 2012 Chris Robert's stated he began about a year previously. (Oh yes, and it's called "Kickstarter.")

He also said creating the game in two years was possible. (With a straight face even)

Beta in 2020 is for SQ42 only I believe, which even then will put development for the single player version at over 8.5 years, and still no promised release date.

There may be a few single player games which have taken 9 plus years to develop,  but not too many, most publishers don't have that sort of patience.

Yup.   Given that they tied SQ42 to SC's design, they can't suddenly be particularly agile about finishing things up either.

And the investors only ponied up enough money for another year.   So next year at this time, maybe they'll have to sell off another chunk of the game.   If enough years pass, the game will likely get some reasonable oversight.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

    Tip to get started:

Step 1: Try it for free during a free fly weekend
Step 2: If you like it, get a 45 $ starter package (more if you want to support the crowdfunding project)

    Step 3: Have fun

Tutorial includes how to access the store and become the whale you've always wanted to be!

Sure. 35/45$ for a starter package is all you need to get in. Which is 2 or 3 times less than Publishers re-skinned version with few DLC's bringing nothing new. Go buy more BF5; Fallout76 and same crap we got every year for "just" 50$ + DLC's.

Looks like beside those usual salty guys around on internet, Backers do get the project no Publishers care to ever sale them.

HEHEHE That's a good one!!! At least with those other games you have something to play and you don't have to spend $100s on other stuff to make yourself competitive!

But hell what do you expect from a washed out game dev and film and tv series producer that had to run a used car business using a pre-made template on his website before coming up with his ultimate scam of selling jpegs for money.

Yes they started from ground up but most new studios will start out with a less ambitious so they can start a cash flow, and then move on too a A.A.A title. Instead he went right to the A,A,A because he was able to sell a dream!,,,, Just like any other salesmen will do!

Don't get me wrong I'm not a hater, I just tell it as I see it! I do hope they finish this game because I would like to get some enjoyment out of the few thousand dollars I dropped into the Chris Roberts black hole! I mean just think of all the shit games I could have got and played with all of that money!

If SQ 42 goes into alpha in Q2 of 2020 then maybe we will see beta in Q2 of 2022 so lets see here, I first dropped money in the black hole in 2011 and I was 51 years old now I just turned 58 so I'll be 59 when the the alpha starts (if it starts), that means I'll be 61 when the beta starts and who knows how old I'll be if SQ 42 even is finished!

SQ 42 was going to be the game that would launch into the PU and was going to out around 2014 and the kickstarter made it sound like it could be done, CR inability to stick to a plan has lead CIG down into a black hole just like what happened with Freelancer when Microsoft replaced him. We all need to holed CR accountable to produce and release a product, but the CIG fan boys won't do that! As soon as someone points out CR short coming they are instantly called a hater and shunned from the community, and the self appointed CIG police will forever protect CR.

So come on people!!! We can all jump on EA to the point where there stock prices fall and their investors start to poke at their management! Well we need to do the same thing with CIG! Oh well wait a minuet!!! There are no investors,,,,There are no CEOs, CFOs, or any other acronym, it's all CR and there is no way to hold his feet to the fire!

So yeah we're all up the creek with out a paddle on this one! All we can do is HOPE! And as we all know HOPE is not a strategy!

    Incorrect.

All we can do is HOPE

Or you can HELP. Playtest. Report bugs. Help to make it finish sooner.

    Have fun
