As the Saga of Lucimia team ramps up to the first alpha experience, a video was published last week that offers a first-look at the questing system. Release 12, currently slated for April 5th to 7th, marks the beginning of the game's alpha phase of development and "Stage 2" as the team focus.

Indeed. It's extremely simple for this iteration, but long-term there are a wide variety of things that will affect your dialogue choices, not the least of which are: faction, alignment, dialogue skills (negotiate/diplomacy/intimidate/etc.), and beyond. We have a goal in mind of having the more complex chains with at least half a dozen dialogue options to choose from, each with their own chains to choose from, allowing you full flexibility when making choices of how you want to act/react.
With consequenses to boot (you can get locked out from choosing the wrong options and/or upsetting an NPC, and you may even be attacked or killed for upsetting the wrong people, or attracting a bounty for pissing off the wrong group).
Thanks! We're working hard to make it so!
While EQ was certainly a source of inspiration, our primary pool for the dialogue system we wanted to pursue are games like Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Neverwinter Nights/Pillars of Eternity/Dragon Age: Origins, and the like. We really want our game to have that tabletop/RPG feel, as opposed to the generic MMORPG pattern of "here's a quest with either an accept or decline button, now go get your loot".
That's the plan Thanks!
We're getting there! Lot of work ahead, but it's coming together just how we want
See you in-game in a few days
You can see my sci-fi/WW2 book recommendations.
@Cryomatrix and we haven't done much in the way of optimization yet. We still have a long way to go in terms of getting the lighting/shading/effects the way we want them But thanks!
Looking at the front page on the site, it mentions 'Challenge' 'Group-based Gameplay' and 'Sandbox'. All of those things together have me really interested, but I can really only see it being fun, for me at least, if I can get into a decent group of longtime players. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this.
Also, no PVP......it's about time we went back to this!
We're pretty firm on our stance against microtransactions.
Also from our FAQ page (https://sagaoflucimia.com/game/faq/)
We will be a subcription-based game. Whether that is a mandatory subscription (box price + monthly sub) or a hybrid model (box price + free to play + optional monthly sub with associated perks) is yet to be decided.
While our final subscription cost isn’t set in stone, you can expect it to be in the ballpark of 15 to 20 dollars a month.
Your monthly fee gives you access to 100% of the game. No locked content hidden behind pricing points, no micro-transactions required to give you access to a mailbox or chat abilities, no loot boxes… just a flat monthly fee to play the game.
Prices are not set in stone; more on this to come at a later date.
