Some returning to grassroots of MMOing without forgetting to innovate. Unlike modern MMOs where you solo packs of mobs while only pressing 1-3 skills to get the job done. Mobs in Astellia have a larger HP pools, so you will be able to play with skills and combos and feel like your playing a game over slamming the same 2-3 skills to win.
Old school tab targeting, how I have missed you. You don't know what you got till every MMO tries to be a MOBA. Also welcome back the trinity, where classes are not a homogenized experience but fill a real role in teams and raids. Yup, Im that guy who misses core mechanics from 20 years ago and thinks most MMOs coming out today have forgotten what made MMOs worth playing. Flame me if you wish.
Get ready for Arenas, large scale PvP battlegrounds with PvP and PvEvP if you rather get involved but not risk your neck. Also 4 Man Dungeons and RAIDs maybe added later. Also a skill system that can really change what you bring to the table in a team or solo. This part gets a little deep but easy to understand.
A large number of your skills (not all) can be upgraded as you progress in the game. These skills can be each upgraded 7 times. This doesn't add anything new to your skill or spell but changes what's already there. Like a DD has damage, cast time and on the tail end maybe a DoT. So you can send all 7 points on just the DD or DoT end of the spell to raise your DPS or all into cast time because your a PvPer and need quick damage or maybe you like a more balanced approach. This is not where skill customization ends.
Next each class has 3 Advanced Classes. Each Advanced Class has 3 skills + the core skills you can from the main class. These 3 skills can change your play style and what you bring to the team. These skills can also be upgraded as well. But not done with the skills yet.
Next the Astells (Pets), there are many to pick from and they all fill one of the trinity roles. Playing a Rogue, bring a Tank or Healer Astell to solo. Doing some PvP or a Dungeon run, make another Rogue Astell as your main pet and double on your backstab skill as both you and your pet backstab at the same time. Also each Astell gives you another unique skill on your hotbar and again this adds to strategy of how you play and what you bring to a team and there is about 30 Astells currently. The combinations are endless. In the end, you could have 2 Mages in the same team and both would bring something different to the team other than just their DPS.
Just a few things to think about! Have anything positive to add?
