Really, you playing that bullshit. where in that article was the 30 million wage payment ever fucking mentioned. The author started with 300 million in the title then dropped it 288 million then dropped it again to 242 million so which number they going by I wonder. The counter page shows 224,870,677.00 so much less than 300 million. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/funding-goals and before you fucking try and say, well the 46 million investment blah, blah, blah. The articles that came out for that story clearly stated that those funds where earmarked for Squadron 42 marketing EXCLUSIVELY, meaning it DOES NOT COUNT AS PART OF PLEDGE TOTALS. Chris Roberts came out and CLEARLY STATED HE WOULD NOT USE BACKER FUNDS FOR THE MARKETING OF SQUADRON 42, in his LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN.
If you're speaking about Forbes article, the part where they wrote "Last year Cloud Imperium released financials that showed its biggest expense was annual salaries of $30 million" Also the article was clear enough that they raised $288 million, of which $242 millions was raised by fans. I'm not sure how you managed to misunderstand it. Also the counter shows different figure than the article because the article is counting total money, while RSI is counting only pledges. You need only take a look at the financials RSI has released and you can see that their total money raised is much higher than the figure on the counter.
I misunderstood nothing. 2012 CI earned 7,262,000 total. 2013 CI earned 29,374,000 total. 2014 CI earned 37,591,000 total. 2015 CI earned 44,613,000 total. 2016 CI earned 44,890,000 total. 2017 CI earned 43,839,000 total. 2018 CI earned 46,000,000 total.
So, 2012 to 2017 is a grand total of 207,569,000, still very much under the reported amounts in that Forbes article. Adding in the 2018 year the total increases to 253,569,000, and yet again much lower than two of that articles numbers, and only slightly higher than the 242 million they used. We are talking grand total here also, meaning ALL fucking income combined.
What the above really shows is an extremely prudent and judicial use of backers money as it came in NOT the CLAIMED IMPROPRIETIES.

If you add that $46 millions to numbers in your own post you'll reach $254 millions raised from fans, $46 millions from investment, and $300 millions total.
EDIT: Why did you write "2018 CI earned 46,000,000 total"?
I don't know if CIG has revealed their total earnings in 2018. The $46 millions was an investment which was separate from total earnings.
Then go fucking reread the articles that came out for that story. That 46 million investment by Calder DOES NOT COUNT AS PART OF PLEDGE TOTALS. It was clearly reported to be earmarked as Squadron 42 marketing money exclusively. So no still not 300 million no matter how much you all try to sidestep reality.
