Why does MMORPG.com have "The winners will have 24 hours to claim their prize...after this time they will be disqualified and we will re-draw more winners." listed on all of their contests, and yet they rarely redraw after 24 hrs. I know they eventually get around to it, but why does it take so long? At least change the contest text to something a little more appropriate.
It's been more than 2 days now and the original list of 29 winners is still up and some of them are still "pending".

I've seen names on that list of 29 winners change, there's now a third or fourth new name listed for the Horizons computer case. I just wish someone would hurry up and claim it because I've still got my hopes up at the possible chance of being picked... Dontcha just hate it when a beauty of a prize like that is just out of arm's reach ?

lol, I'd rather like that case myslf, but I don't know where the winners list has gone to so I don't know who the lucky sod is who go it.

Doh, I was gone to a friends house for three days and I got disqualified

With the old way of running contests we had all the winners selected within 24 hours. People complained because they were selected but were too slow to accept. Now however people are complaining because it is too slow but they still can accept if they did in fact win. The thing is no matter what system we use we will have people complain simply because they didn't win.

I'm not unhappy that I didn't win - I have been successfull with MMORPG contests before. I also wasn't aware that the names were being changed. I guess I was used to the old way of having the existing names colored and labaled as disqualified and newly drawn ones posted to the bottom.
I totally agree that you can't please everyone - and if you find a way, let's hook up and write a new bestseller. As for the timing, my personal vote would be to simply go with a purely automated drawing where after 24 hours, unclaimed winners are disqualified. The only compromise I could see possibly making would be to let drawings done on a saturday have, say, 36 hours for the first cycle to allow people that are travelling on the weekend a bit of extra time. Still vey automatable and tamper resistent.

Yeah, I won the 3 month subscription so ummm.....how do I use it and can I start any time I want? Will they be sending me sumthin or do i just get a key or what? This is my first time winning anything on this website.
I think you guys misunderstood me a little, I wasn't complaining, sorry if I came off that way, just a little frustrated is all. I don't mind the contest system you are using. I had my chance, I forgot about the contest and didn't check at my friends house, so it is my own fault.

Trust me, I've NO problem at all with how contests are run. I just only ever participate in the HZ ones and wanna WIN! :P
