Character creator isn't that robust. You've got a few options, you can change the body a little bit. It's less involved than the original pooping simulator.

Snail games had one good game with Ark, but now they're vomiting out below average games that re-use their original game one way or another.

They still have good and intriguing ideas for a new game, but they just aren't even trying to put out the money and development hours into them to make them good.

I wonder how this runs on Switch, the original ARK was an unoptimised mess.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

A 17 minute video isn't worth watching unless it has all I need to know of at least three games.

Snail is simply unreal.IDK the exact entire structure of this business going way back but what they have is ONE nice game design idea...ONE.
They have managed to take that ONE idea/design and multiply it into several games. All they did was change the face of each game and sell it off as a new game.

They do keep the cost rather low,in this case $30 would be a fair price. My opinion is these games Snail keeps turning out are as fast as their art team can work. Most of the systems are identical in each game, very subtle changes.

What i keep asking myself ...is this a FAIR business practice?Well to answer my own question i have to again ask several other questions. Are their games decent, yes they are and at a fair price. Most all are full of bugs, idk this game yet but i assume also full of bugs. They do tend to fix the bugs over time, they have not abandoned their games like some devs do.

The problem i have is if i bought ALL their games,i would essentially be buying ONE game with 5/6/7 different face lifts. These games are not taking them any longer than 2 years tops and in some cases around one year. That would be like around $200 bucks for one game.

Their games also tend to lack content, they are what you call BASE/CORE game designs,a ice world, some nice mechanics/ideas but do not expect any Themepark or quests or hand holding content stories.Snail simply gives you a world to goof around as you please,in reality a BETTER version of Minecraft and millions over the years endorsed Minecraft.

IDK how people draw conclusions on worth but i just looked and Minecraft is $39 bucks CAD and that game cannot hold any water when compared to ANY of the Snail games be it Ark or Atlas or Wild West or this one.

Yes i know how buggy releases can kill games and Snail is NOT to be excused for continuing to release buggy games. They simply rely on marketing a nice GIMMICK but do not take the time to polish these games.

IMO Snail wouldn't care about maintaining a player base because there is no money in it for them.Do you think Blizzard would care about Wow if there was no subscription fee and no more profits moving forward.

I can also look at that Microsoft published Pirate game that had literally NO content and sold for $80  ..lmao.

IMO the real big picture....Snail cannot be trusted as an HONEST developer, you will get decent games at good prices but you will also be frustrated for various reasons. What i still have to look at however,is HOW can Minecraft continue to be praised and it does so very little. As well using the same argument in that video,Minecraft also cost LESS then raised it's price.

I have almost 300 hours of fun logged for PixARK. I think my wife has more. And that was before a lot of the updates and improvements they've made recently.

Regular ARK I only have 18 hours of not so much enjoyment (Dark and Light 50, Conan Exiles 190, Rend 140, Atlas 180, Citadel: Forged With Fire 23, Empyrion 500, just for comparison of other similar titles).

I would say I got my money's worth and then some. I think some people enjoy complaining about games more than actually playing them. Of course that's how most Youtube channels make money is by making "this game sucks" videos, because that's what the internet is for.
