IGN has a new "unfiltered" interview with Bethesda's Todd Howard where he acknowledges the rough start to Fallout 76. Howard admits that the company knew that FO76 was "going to have a lot of bumps", though he attributes the rough patches to "new systems and things like that".

I didn't fall for it because I'm not a rube, I learned my lesson way back when Warhammer Online turned out to be garbage lol.
I know right, the balls on this guy to try to compare ESO at launch to this baked turd.
Aloha Mr Hand !
Since they seem to think that they will be able to aggressively monetise modding (an activity that, apart from sexual based mods, never made any profit for the modders), I don't foresee any bright future for any future Bethesda game, single player or otherwise.
There is also the issue of the sales pitch he peddled regarding this game. All in camera, all in high profile interview or events, all raising hype for the disaster that it was Fallout 76.
Bethesda seems to follow the same down spiral road Bioware took.
I think the masses of broken quests, crashes, instancing and phasing problems were pretty relevant too..
ESO was a complete disaster zone when it launched.

I actually enjoyed playing back around launch, and plan on one day returning for another look in the near future.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They pulled scummy moves with Elder Scrolls then of course rebuffed and added in a cash shop,oh a cash shop is suppose to be better than a sub fee?
This is what they do,they start with real scummy moves and if nobody complains, they make away like bandits and if people complain ,they change it,either way they are trying to rip off customers, people that are loyal and giving them money, yeah good idea, let's try and screw them over.
How about the bonus items scam "the backpack"for example with pre orders, this operation/Zenimax never seem to stop trying to screw people over.
Cash shop=SCUMMY business operations.

It's a quote chain which unfortunately doesn't show to get his complete take on the issue.
That is the icing on the cake to all of this. They knew it would be pretty bad upon release yet released it as a full price game. To put the cherry on it, they quickly sunk the price as 'sales' shortly after release, so they knew they pushing it. If this released as 40$ or something originally, then maybe. I mean even Ubisoft with New Dawn knew that game wasn't worth 60$ (some will argue it wasn't even worth 40), but they weren't going crazy and it wasn't horrid upon release.
It isn't hard to look at that statement and realize how completely arrogant it sounds. It doesn't take a PR manager to spot that.
They are admitting they messed up. If they don't admit it then players think they are arrogant. If they do admit it then of course players go for the throat.
But of course, results speak louder than words so I think game companies should spend more on results and speak less to the players.

He should've stopped at "It wasn't well-received for good reason, we're working on improving it." The statement here, on top of the bag fiasco, just screams "Fuck you guys, pay us."
