After blasting through 13 levels on my Psyker my overall feeling on the patch is that it is a pretty smart one. They have added more levels and endgame on the one hand but have sped things up on the other. Faster combat, faster levelling, no timer on crafting anymore etc. makes for a more dynamic experience where your character develops more quickly making the journey more exciting. They have been smart to upgrade the actual combat with better animations and a bit more visual oomph when it comes to your abilities as well.
Combine all this with more loot and you have a game where levelling is more fun and the moment to moment gameplay more exciting but you are also rewarded more which ties in with developing your character further, and that keeps you playing again. A nice bonus is the performance boost.
I will be playing a lot, like I said, a pretty smart patch, familiar but better. It does not however change the core of the game, its a tactical, bleak ARPG. I also hope they will be adding more tilesets and better level randomisation. Ohh, and better tutorial integration into the main game. Their tutorials are actually top notch and usefull but many will be skipping over them while playing and wonder about the surpression mechanic for instance.
Great game, great patch. Bring the expansion!

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
