if they are smart they will forget eso, but we are not that lucky we know bethesda lack creativity, so they will just copy and paste everything they did in fallout and skyrim and hope for the best, with luck, modders can fix the game later
hmmm well, "I hope not" as I don't like the Elder Scrolls Online.
However, multiplayer of some sort could be fun. I'd love it if they had something that was split , sort of like left4dead.
I should add that Elder Scrolls Online is Zenimax, not Bethesda. Not sure what Todd Howard thinks of Elder Scrolls Online other than "party line" stuff.

I do not know how it financially performed vs Skyrim, but I would imagine that anything that improved the bottom line will find it's way into future games.

There's a conspiracy theory that Todd Howard hates Matt Firor and ZOS. @DMKano used to post about that.
If true then there's little chance that ESO will impact future games but Bethesda is fully on the GaaS bandwagon so Todd & Co. will probably fumble around with some new online thing for TES 6.
If false, it's hard to imagine that they wouldn't take the opportunity to cross promote in some major or minor way. As minor as doodahs in one if you own the other or as major as using the same character and/or gear in both somehow, but...
... ESO carved out a mostly undocumented time period for themselves that is thousands of years earlier than the TES single player games timeline so they can happily coexist without any need to acknowledge the other. Impacting each other in some way would take some major doings.

I felt ESO was garbage compared to the rest of the series...Didn't even feel like an Elder Scrolls game to me.
I wouldn't go as far as garbage but to me it doesn't feel like one either. It hints at it. I do think it's very well done as a modern mmorpg but it doesn't scratch my Elder Scrolls itch. I've taken it off my pc until something groundbreaking is added. Not sure what that would be.
I've been playing and modding Skyrim, spent a lot of time this past weekend in Morrowind and downloaded Daggerfall Unity. With some of the mods out there it looks and sounds much better and feels a lot more playable.
So, while waiting for the next Elder Scrolls game (not Blades) I guess I"m going backwards.

hmmm I met Matt Firor at PAX and while he was nice enough he didn't really bowl me over. I got the sense that he wanted to be anywhere but talking to one of the fans of the Elder Scrolls games.
I was going to write "... got the sense he wanted to be anywhere but talking to me ... " but that just CAN'T be right!

Going backwards is not a bad thing. I've been playing Dragon Age Origins this week,

Why would Bethesda copy anything from ESO? They are just going follow the evolutionary path that Elder Scrolls has been on since Daggerfall.
Dumb down mechanics, make it more "action-y", make it less open world sandbox and watch the money roll in.
Daggerfall sold 100k, Morrowind sold 5 million, Oblivion sold over 10 million, Skyrim is up to 40 million or more sales by now.
So, would they jeopardize sales by changing it up now? Dont think Todd Howard wants anything to do with multiplayer after what happened with Fallout 76.

You may be right about how Todd feels but his bosses are on the games as service kick big time.

- that if ESO is still running then it would subsequently make use of locations/ races / lore etc. introduced by ES6.
And whilst it is true that ESO is released etc. by Zenimax Online Services, Bethseda were / have been / probably still are involved since it is they that are "custodians" of the ES lore
Hopefully nothing that was done in ESO makes its way to other Elder Scrolls games.
Idk....I'm really enjoying the story and exploration so far. I think it's a beautiful game overall on ultra. I'm not sure if I'd want this more action-y combat in a Singleplayer ES or not...

Gut Out!
Not sure if you played the other elder scrolls games but their exploration, in my opinion, is much better than Elder Scrolls Online. Heck, I could write a book about Morrowind alone.

It's funny how well it has aged.... even the graphics. Morrigan and Leliana still look sexy all these years later

Polar opposite for me actually. I love RPGs and owned both ESIV and Skyrim and couldn't even complete 25% of both. I decided to give ESO a try since I love MMOs too and immediately got sucked in.

Drakensang is the better game .......
meah, I tried Drakensang several times and just didn't like it. It felt tedious.
It can feel that way at the beginning , it has lot more systems going on and far superior class/rpg system that is not the norm .. But once you dig in its a better game in everyway IMO and its expansion.. The learning curve is a bit steeper than something like DA
But in the end its all preference .. TBH , i found DA strung out cinematics annoying .. And once you learn the ins and outs of the automated system the game practically plays itself

Automated system? Are you talking about "tactics?" I didn't really use that. I Just manage each character as I need to and didn't touch tactics. Cinematics never bother me and I enjoy the "acting" and verbal banter, interaction with npc's.
I can give it another go and see what happens. I just remember playing it and not having the beginning grab me at all and then I had a chance to level and put points in so many things including, if memory serves, digging. I think I just uninstalled at that point. Still, it would be nice to play through a game like Neverwinter Nights/Dragon Age that I havne't played for many years.
I'll try it again this weekend with a better mindset.
