Gamigo reached an agreement with XL Games over Archeage's development and they did expand the development team and re-evaluating several things in the game.

I sort of think that reflection is always a good thing. Maybe they redo how the game is monetized and it works very well and they realize that going forward they will keep it. Maybe other developers will see this and try the same.

I once wrote a piece where I came to a dead end. I couldn't figure out how to go forward. So I chopped off 27 measures (or so) and was able to finish it the next day.

one can get one's self into a bad place by always just going forward.

erm, still doesn't change the fact that less games are being made so there's that.

First of all, if they were truly steering away from F2P cash shop stigma, which they obviously are not, it wouldn't be so cryptic. Hybridized could mean a lot of things, but one thing it does mean is the existence of a cash shop. So, I'm afraid the dream of a subscription only server STILL isn't going to happen.

That sounds like mumbo jumbo and enough for people to be wary of what they actually mean.

I don't think i will even bore with this game. The game had changed too much from the original design in a bad way .

People used to do this and that in AA , nowadays they grind hiram .

This AA sub relaunch was planned over a year ago way before Gamigo even came into the picture- this was a work of XL and Trion - gamigo didnt do shit to make this happen.

The work was well underway as I said a long time ago

And yet the community was asking for it for 5 years and Trion could not manage it .. Gamigo in under 6 moths will deliver lol..

 And it will crush al the other p2w server easily

I've never played archeage properly. As soon as I saw that it cost labour points to get the gold from mobs I quickly uninstalled it.

If they are removing that kind of crap, I'll give it another go.

I remember hearing about it at that point...Everyone said it was going to be the next huge MMO, bigger than WoW.....By the time I tried it it was f2p and didn't seem like anything special...The p2w aspect doesn't bother me as much as most players as I don't care about PVP.

You dont see Gamigo running Trion into the ground faster than Trion ever did?

If they put up a sub only server for Archeage with cosmetic cash shop attached they will crush all other AA servers , Ive been saying thios for 5 years here ,( you can look if you like ) but i think you know better ..

  A sub only AA server would be an instant money maker for them , and i could see them getting some help for Rift ...

  So yes the Ips are in better hands today .. time will tell , but this a bigger step in the right direction than trion managed in 5 years

Why Josh Hartman didn’t try to explain to XL Games that the Cash Shop was ruining Trion good reputation?

I tell you why.
Because at that time the Cash Shop was keeping afloat Trion, as per your own admission.
Very short sighted business decision.
Personally I don’t think it was worth it.

Trion could have published any other game, it didn’t have to be AA, and they could have done it on their own terms.

I love giving Trion sh!# as it's well deserved but if you think Gameigo did anything groundbreaking that Trion couldn't in regard to a sub server you're smoking something man made.
