Why do we as consumers care? To be 100% honest, I am glad Blizzard is having assets stolen from them. Now THEY know how it feels to be robbed.
40$ mounts. Still 20$ sub for a game that has received 4 mediocre expansions in a row. (If not more)
And god forbid someone want to change servers or factions to play with a friend! 30$ a piece for some schmuck to push a button and have that handled.
Blizzards greed is a joke. Just like their games. And their idea of "Legendary" items. xD The only games I have ever played where Legendary literally has no meaning.
The government of China allows if not encourages such theft. If you want to know what the current trade dispute between the US and China is about, it's basically about stuff like this. This is quite far from being the first, largest, or most blatant such theft that Chinese companies have perpetrated, largely because their government doesn't do anything to discourage it.
Furthermore, that's pretty much unique to China. Other east Asian countries such as South Korea, Japan, or Taiwan aren't blatant thieves like this. Nor are some of the other bad actors on the world stage like Russia or Iran.
For decades, various administrations in various countries largely shrugged and said, there's nothing we can do about it. Trump has basically said, we're going to do something about it, for better or worse. That's what the various tariffs and negotiations are about: trying to force China to stop relying on large-scale theft of foreign assets as a major part of their government policy, so that those such as the game developers who had their assets stolen and then sold as a competitor can shut down such illegal activity.
Not just these but they are using WoW sound effects. Like literally the same skill, mob and interface sound effects. When I first saw Cryy playing this game I can't believe what I heard tbh.The boars, spiders, wolfs, firebolt, eating food sound effects all of them and more are %100 stolen from WoW. Not only the beginning of the game but I see some people fighting %100 knock off end games bosses which are literally stolen from WoW. It's disgusting knowing they can easily get away with this shit just because they are a Chinese company...
Except Blizzard used a free sound effects set to offset the cost of the development a bit. They do not own the generic sound effects, hence why you hear them in this game (and in fact, other games.)
Every single one of those MMO's Ripped off another MMO WoW stole more than any of them... not even funny.
This is what i have been saying for years. But these people are choosing to make a big deal out of this because it's China doing it. American mmo companies have been copying each other for years. So i'm not buying into this crap.

Yea, not exactly the smoking gun you hoped for, but i've heard the *exact* sound effects used in other games. But is it really such a stretch that maybe the reason Blizzard isn't suing people for it is because they can't sue for it?
