I did have the beta at one point but I could not play it because the graphics card that are required needs to support 1.0 pixel shading or higher. as for the other req. perrty much standard, from what I can remember. Hope this helps.
I had the beta and I downloaded and played the game. I've never had a game run so slow on my computer. My guess is, have a good computer if you plan on trying Irth Online. But, from what I saw the graphics weren't top notch so it struck me how the game ran so slow..
There's talk that the Irth Online company is releasing this as a free game. I guess that makes sense. The hardware requirements will be a barrier for most people. So a free game would entice people to try the game.

Cool. I wasn't planning to play this game. But if it's free, I'll give it a shot when it comes out of Beta.
People are saying that this games engine is meant to be a very good one, yet it has failed to show this in my eyes. Ive played EQ2 on "High" settings with a resolution of 1280 by 1024 and the game runs really smoothly. Yet when I play Irth Online, the game runs poorly with its default settings
Even when I bring the viewing distance all the way down, the FPS still suffers. Yes I know the game is still in beta and they still need to optimise the engine, but people saying that is a very good one, I just can't see where they are coming from.
As far as the game being free on release, I doubt it.
I just checked out the game on this site. Graphics are ....ok, I suppose. I do not think I will be trying the beta, sounds like a big hassle. With a few days to go before release? Er, uh hope they believe in miracles.
The UI is terrible and the default controls are horrid. The default keymap setup is confusing and not like anything else, wonder why they set it up like that. The graphics are decent, but not enough to ever get a penny from me. I have a nice comp with a 256mb graphics card and 1.5g of ram and it still runs horrible.
I ran around for an hour and found 3 mobs to kill, and the combat was choppy and needs alot of work. I got a quest at the start and that was good, but they need to add intro quests to help you get to know the starting area and the locations of npcs in town.
First look at the game feels like a public alpha. I got a bugged out screen trying to move the chat box and the hotbar. Seems like they may just need more feedback and better closed beta testers...

Yes, that's why I'm surprised when game director stated this beta stage was expected to be final one. The longer beta they do the better game will be released at the end, especially such a game being developed with community
I tried Irth and will try it a little more, but it's not a final beta.
To kick things off, you can download the latest public beta (900 MB) and then you launch the update which updates itself three times and then you find yourself watching six hours of checking, downloading, and patching stuff -- over 700 MB was downloaded by the patcher just to get the game up to date.
Anyhow: - graphics really needs work; i couldn't get much above 10 fps at 1280x1024 with settings all the way down - no one plays! it's free and I found an entire one person in three hours of playing... even AC2 has more people than that! - fighting, unless i've missed something, is just attack and watch... no skills, etc... and the best newbie weapon is your pickaxe (which raises the Mace skill, strangely enough)
I think most would agree... it looks like a mix between two or three different MMOs with nothing added and lots of problems. It took what everyone liked about resourse-ish games like WISH, added the WoW-like skill system, and gave you lots of numbers like AC... and called it new game.
*shrug*... it's not bad to try it out, but try it now before you'd have to pay for it.

UGH it's in beta. And if you couldn't get more than 10 fps either your system sucks, or you had shadows and water detail cranked. Also if you turn names off that saves a lot of lag too. I get over 100 fps, and did I mention IT"S IN BETA!

Dude, it's a beta. Why not do what you were SUPPOSED to do and make suggestions and participate on the forums? You just wanted a free game to play, I have no sympathy.
I agree with anarchyart thats all they wanted. Not to help make the game better( which is why the devs went with an early beta was to have the game community help evovle the game), not to help with pointing out buggs but to play a game for free. It sickens me. Thats why several company's have gone to guild wars style beta test to allow the devs to work on the bugs(that true beta testers report) then beta test then work on bugs so on and so forth. Instead of allowing 5000 or more people which only 1/3 to half will report the bugs play for free for several months, and use up bandwidth and manpower for what and unfinished game that they will bitch about(not realizing they are responsible not the company).

I get over 100 fps, and did I mention IT"S IN BETA! You tell them, Artie. You just keep playing the Beta card ...up until the day of release. Hell, why not use that excuse a week after it ships? It's worked so well before!

I agree.
This was one of the biggest turn offs. The UI was not good at all. I was interested in playing and spending some time with this, but it just didn't feel worth the effort.
The most basic of requirements is a card that support the Pixel and Vertex shaders v1.1, This would basically be any GeForce 4 Ti series card or higher for nVidia, or a Radeon 9200 or higher for ATI. Once again those are just the bare minimum that support the features required.
As for the P2P status, we have not released any information that the game will be free, you may want to check your sources on that. For now the game is planned to be a competitively priced P2P game.
This game is horrible, especially since it's slated to be released soon as is unbelievably buggy, even for a beta.
Graphics lag the hell out of my system even turned very very low (which is pathetic for the level of graphics the game actually has) The UI is horrible. The default keymaps suck, the only good thing is you can change them to automatically be mapped like otehr mmos (thank god they had one for Asherons) but even so it was very very hard to control. The world is laggy and there is little to no direction on what to do at the beggining.
Not to mention with a Radeon 9200 (which is supposed to run the game just fine) the game kicked my computer in the balls unless I took view distance down to nil and took off names and pretty much everything else, for what? ,graphics that look like shite to begin with. Thusly, it boggles my mind how games like GW (which isn't an amazing game content wise but definately one of the prettiest i've ever seen) run like gold on my machine with maxed out graphics and this game, which has vastly inferior graphics runs like I was on a 486.
As a programmer, all I can say is horrible horrible coding.

Why doesn't anyone listen? Hello! It is Beta! Just you wait, you will eat those words when this releases! This will dominate the industry. All future games will adopt the Magic Hat model of game development!!!!!

you have to be kidding me, lol nothing like a brisk 12 hour trip from one side of a shitty looking world to the other nothing like macroing skills up for hours nothing like a shady contests that aren't finished when they implement it,yet they get extended-just like the release date...

D
unfortunately official word is that this game will be p2p after released.
yes, the engine isn't quite optimized yet but they are slowly getting there.
Requirements I'd say:
2ghz processor (intel or amd)
512mb memory
Geforce4 Tixxxx (not MX) or higher
Ati Radeon 9200 or higher
2 word's...Memory Leaks 8(
Also might be an unoptimised engine
heh..prolly a lil of both
alot of leaks and stuff were fixed just last week, now is the time to try again
Not to mention theirs probably more than a month till release if not LONGER.
This game should not be released anytime soon.

Sure Magic Hat Software appreciates feedback, but posting it here isn't helping, post it in their own forums.
