1) After 60 bucks, I was perma banned under a month of game play fot saying "Failures" (First warning). Ok, It can sound like I am being hard on specific pepole, so I stated the obvious on a losing match once:
"Lost it" (second warning)
So few days later I just said "damn, we lost", perma banned! And I rarely type in any competitive game becuaseI don't think fingers should be off the action keys, you should be playing 100%, not hitting enter, going AFK in game to type your stuff....I usually type a one line like mentioned above, and usually right at the last second of the game or game over screen....
I can say, in my life time, I can not think of anything else that was a worse purchase... Sure, you can get a dud game, but I mean...I never consider it a waste if I didn't enjoy at least trying it...I mean...sheesh...I have had near death exerpeinces buying stuff in mexico, and even then, I don't regret it. I have seen bad films in the theater, but when I think back, I would not have asked for cash back or not gone to see it. But this game... Is literally the most regretful thing I have done. And just because of the out right ban abuse (League of legends is on par with this. They will ban you just for playing and never chatting if you win too much or lose to much LOL) but because of the gaming mentalitities this creates and that is where points 2 and 3 come in.
2) When I was playing, they had these PVE events in over watch. They were fun, made sense, and added difference to the shooter genre. Then the big debate hit that Blizzard was over charging a product for base content, and they should at least do DLC for these temporary events that made people want to buy the game, because if you don't have this online experience you don't get the experience (and sometimes limited rewards, but that can stay unique but the experience can't be seen or reproduced except in videos by people).
The fans justified it saying PvE would never work.
" It was not made for that."
"It had just arena in mind, we should just consider these pve things events and move on". The battle was intense, I got banned after and stopped following and participating ins treams etc.. so I don't really know what they think now but man... You can feel it, like what you know shold be right, but isn't then transforms into "Gotcha! That dude was right! now come play in this rip off fairyland". And it keeps evolving like this with companies like this:
3) Besides their contraversial social manipulation which is creepy as (f words) . How are we not more suspicious of this? "Yeah we made some games with a famous capture the base game then a rpg game based on the same franchise idea, and yeah, it sells....so that eventually led us to hey, why not join socialist politics. WoW2? Original Arean shooter? NAHHHHHH Milion dollar orc statue in the hall way and lets just get political and call our characters autistic (no idea how these two things even exist in same context but welcome to 2019). I work in high end game studio design, and half of these people do psychadelics, and other insane activites....yet they got their customers like some cult followers:" We are poltiicaly correct. Reward us all for never using F word in chat. Remove my (insert medical groin words) because TV said so, and so did video game"....In a way... BRAVO blizzard, fricking far out to get people this insane. Because this works in no other logical setting: "Yeah, I'm a welder....I also know all welders no longer accept the word "Noob" as a new recruit. You see, youll be banned from the association if you do this. The big company that sells the best saws does this too" Like....literally said no one ever.
So booo as a company, or maybe yeah for best social project fail ever.
Hey Jan in Accounts recievable, if your there next week, lets go do more coke and cut cats tails like we did. Fun times fun times... Did I mention their outdated games are still behind sub pay walls?
Yeah, I can't help but call b.s. on this. I've said much, MUCH worse in chat. At most, they just turn off your ability to use chat for 24 hours... which is what happened to me. They don't ban you from the game. You kind of lost me after this.
That said, I agree that that it doesn't seem like enough to warrant a whole new game. The current version of Overwatch runs well. Just add an expansion for $19.99 or something. Unless they are having issues behind the scenes and are basing the new game of a different engine or platform, but that doesn't seem likely.
I honestly can't justify it. As Nyc mentioned earlier, they could've just made it a 40$ expansion to OW, but again we have to remember the full name of the company is Activision-Blizzard....and CoD has been doing great....hasn't it? Anyone who comes out to defend this has to seriously think, 60$ for what you already have + 1 new map/hero/and some pve? Really? Especially after just launching OW1 on the switch.
Looking into this, I really don't think this is a full game. I think the 2 indicates 2.0 or something, and it will just be an expansion or some large content release.
To me it just looks like they're adding a PvE mode to the game and calling it #2. Rebranding it to get the attention of people that ignored the game because it's PvP only. Now people will see the "2" and check it out to see what it has.

You don't even know how much PvE is in this new games, or how it will play out.
Maybe gameplay will be totally different.
How can you guys rage so much if you haven't even seen how it looks like ?

You are absolutely right, Mr. 174. I dont know how much pve it will get. How much pve is worth a new game price vs an expansion price? Hell, since this is Activision-Blizzard, are annual CoD games really worth dumping 60$ a year on? I suppose the only person who can answer either is the person willing to dump money. This is exactly why companies do it, because there's people like yourself who are willing to pay for something the requires 25% of the development time to put something out that makes you rebuy all the crap you did in the first time.

Those who want pure pvp can stay with Overwatch 1.
And those of us who want pve, maybe booth will play Overwatch 2.
Simple as that.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

If this is true OW2 is a hard pass for me, I've got to much invested in the first game to throw it all away and start grinding again.
