The gameplay however... hmm not as amazing

    ..how I'm not amazed, lol.

D4 looks amazing and it will get a lot better since we are looking at 2+ years release date.

They failed to match Project TLs gameplay shown a year ago.

The textures look straight out if PoE.

Not saying it looks bad, but it is not amazing.

    The graphics look dated already.

TL I thought looked amazing - Blizzard has time ri fix it but right now TL has D4 beaten hands down in terms of graphics

To me GFX is nothing. Gameplay is everything.

That is why I can love a game like Dungeon of the Endless.

That "gameplay" trailer really did not show anything. Without an UI, or longer connected sequenses , it is impossible to get a feel for how it will play. But they said they are aiming for the same flow as D3, which is fine by me. I love the how D3 feels to play in the moment to moment action part. The overall gameplay structure leaves a lot to be desired though, IMHO.

How they described the game world sounded a lot like Guild Wars 1, again by me, fine. Social hubs and instances works fine, for this type of game. Albion Online is a good illustration of why the ARPG genre really does not benefit from an MMO like approach, same as Deviliian did. I had fun with both of those games for a while, but the shared world had more negatives than positives imho.

That's okay; I'll still end up buying a copy for PC, probably XBox One, then probably another for Scarlett, just like I did with D3 (except 360 >XOne).

Did they say anything about a D2 remaster?

That's the real deal right there IMO - not this Diablo 3.5 thing they showed.
So you complain that the D4 videos look "boring" and the graphics meh, but you are all in for a D2 remaster, which I highly suspect wouldn't get a full graphics make over, or engine. Most likely some updated shaders, textures, few UI modifications, but it would still have the same older, clunky combat feel (which in 2000 felt great for its time, not so much today)

What D2 lacks in graphica more than makes up in gameplay.

Did you see how dumbed down the gear is in D4?

Lol they made it even simpler than D3.

Also guess what D4 has - a cash shop - they are saying its cosmetics, but will see how long that stays with Activision at helm
I used to miss the complicated stat systems of ye-olden RPGs, then I realized that all that simplification just does the math for me. Now instead of having to figure out that 5 dex will give me .3 more attacks per second, but losing 4 str drops 3-5 damage per attack, the game just tells me more damage or less. It's the same thing in the long run, just less futzing with Excel in the background.

I got to try it at Blizzcon on both days. I tried the Druid first and then Sorceress second. I definitely enjoyed the Druid more in terms of character skills allowed in the demo. The Druid spells felt so impactful and powerful--I loved it.

The game had runes and talent trees similar to D2 and the overall look and feel of the game was really dark, gothic, and bloody. Definitely a much more gory game compared to D3. For just a demo, I was thoroughly impressed and I'm sure everybody that demoed the game feels the same.

I cannot wait for its release!

Looks just like Diablo 3 with a tan.
Guess they were proud of that engine and they had to frontline it.
How is D4 looking like D3? Very legit question, which I'm also waiting a detailed response from @DMKano as how you guys are seeing D4 as D3.5 .

Oh, your crystal ball is back I see! :)

D3 should of had a cash shop long time ago from my point of view. We got many free updates and we are still getting, that I feel like a cosmetic cash shop would make justice to support D3 team.

Your theory that we may see other items then cosmetics in a Diablo game, where there will be seasons and such where competition, ranks, leaderboards will be the main aspect of the game , makes me think for how many times you were wrong! Actually, this has nothing to do with being right or wrong, but just your hate towards Blizzard. Whoever sees your comments as "eyes opening" , are naive.

You are here just to spread your hate. Nothing more, nothing less!

Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!

I read the beginning of this thread and got to see a few linked videos. Graphically it just reminds me of PoE. I'm definitely playing it though. I got REALLY excited for Diablo III when it released and the only game that made me feel that hyped is Baldurs Gate 3 until now.

Diablo 3 was fun at the beginning until the end when getting good gear was impossible unless you were rich on Auction House. that took away from the game from me once I was done the story.

But I am still excited to see this world now. Hopefully a pre-order will get beta access, thar's the only thing that'll make me pre-order.

Although I enjoyed D3, I'm glad they're going back to a more dark and gritty art style reminiscent of D1 & 2 for D4. Hopefully they can manage to make it look apart from every other dark and gritty ARPG though. If you had shown me that footage and said it was some up and coming Korean ARPG I would have been "Meh...".
