I had a decent experience a year ago as I paid nothing for the game - it was gifted to me as the dude couldn't get anyone play it with him. I went back to check the game 2 months ago - it's basically what it was before, just bigger chest.
Now, the game is basically the same still, but they're now embracing pay to win.
I honestly don't care at all what Beth does with game, but the fact it ruins the future of Fallout games is something that matters to me. I went back to New Vegas and Fallout 4. We likely won't get Fallout universe single-player ever again. That's what annoys me.
It is pretty ridiculous the amount of people who come out of the wood work as soon as they don't agree with something a company is doing. Like, people who don't even play Fallout 76 bash Fallout 1st relentlessly.
Why? Because it's effecting the gaming market in some way? Possibly, IF it was successful, which it clearly isn't. If it's not effecting it in that way, I think it must be something else, right?
Jealously? Because the people who can't afford Fallout 1st take it out on people who can? That's the only conclusion I can really come to.
This entire thing is very weird to me. As a Fallout 76 player, I'm thankful to the 1st - keep giving the devs money so they make more content for me to enjoy for free. Once an expansion hits and if it costs money, THEN I might be annoyed. So far, this is mild to me. Everyone needs to chill out.
Still remember how MTX was to support the game and no gameplay advantage could be gained from it? People like you are why Beth is trash company now.
There is only one thing that can destroy gaming, and that is not spending money on it. So for all the righteous people out there sticking it to the developers by actively not spending a dime to teach them a lesson, you are ruining your hobby even more then those spending money besides a sub or box price.
/Cheers, Lahnmir
No, I will not accept the premise that we have to support a bad product to keep an industry going. This isn't about "teaching the devs a lesson". This is about drawing a line of what is not acceptable to release as a final product. The problem is not with the consumers or the developers but with the publishers who decided to release games with horrible bugs and a tedious grind then expect more money later on and praise for not making things worse.

Yep, why believe what game companies tell you they will do? Just pay them money because they exist. Bullshit stance.

It is affecting the gaming market. It is pushing the limits of what is acceptable. Even a failure pushes the limits a little bit. Now publishers know that if their game isn't as broken as F76 then that's OK.
Oh, and F-First IS an expansion you have to pay for. You get features Beth said would be free, but now costs money.

Not only that, they will also be selling features in the Atom shop that are exclusive to those with F1st. It's insane to support this.

You remember when they promised servers for everyone free? And now they put them behind pay wall? And you defend shit companies like this?
Actually no, I don't recall the promise of "free" servers for everyone, nor can I find a quote stating such so please share if you have one.

Imagine paying $100 a year to be sold things.
Strangely enough they give you atoms (along with other items of value) in return for the $100 which can be spent on cash shop items, some of which are exclusive... like a 1st Icon and an ugly jacket.
Where's my FO 1st only attack helicopter, if it's going to be P2W let's go full monty.
Weird how sales transactions work.... I guess
Oh yeah, I got some special deal and only had to buy a months worth for $12.99....but then I'm sort of awesome like that.

@ both, perhaps read my first sentence again. I have never said you should spend money on bad products or gobble up all the crap that companies shove down your throat.
What I am saying however is that not spending any money on gaming at all to take a stance harms the industry most, good AND bad games. It harms the industry more then people that spend money on mtx, cash shops etc. Unless you are of the opinion that if you can’t have your game nobody should get theirs either, in that case there is little left to discuss.
The solution? Actively spend money on those games you do like, but also give others the option to do the same even if you don’t like their decisions. Unless you are of the opinion that the masses are stupid, in that case I would say ‘Welcome to Democracy.’

Nice contribution bro, super original and flavorful. A+, never seen a comment like this on the internet about FO76 before. It's like you're just padding your post count at this point.
So you have issue with this but not the statement that one side SHOULD be griefing the other!? Either way, the polarization of division in the gaming community, in general, has a lot to do with the industries current state. Let me clarify, it is like 2 slices worth from all the issues in the pie chart.
There is blame a'plenty that lands in the communities lap, as well as most of the companies. If the community, regardless of console or PC or genre, ever truly organized, and followed through, we might see some changes. No matter if 'baddies' or pros, casual, hardcore.....we all love video games.
This is all you need to see to understand what a crap product Bethesda put out. Then we can add the pre order bull and to me,i can't stand seeing ANY markers on screen, like player tags showing on screen from afar. They claim several studios helped build the game and that is fine but it is up to Bethesda to do the work making sure it is a good finished product.
There were parts in the game that reminded me of EQ2 release with bugs and glitches.
We should not be supporting or promoting LAZY/BAD game releases.Perfect example,i waited and i waited and was extremely hyped for FFXIV but when it released in a terrible state and NOT the design i expected,i was extremely disappointed.
In BOTH these cases Bethesda and Square admitted they failed. The difference is Square took some time and effort to improve the product albeit still not up tp my standards,Bethesda instead moves on and does a piss poor job of fixing or even caring. Fallout 1st is just another lame marketing, money grab idea,i laugh when i see words like "PREMIERE" membership.
