@rpmcmurphy hang on... why the heck are you attacking my post saying it has nothing to do with the article, when before your reply to me you have 7 other posts.... that have nothing to do with the article?? And, why are you saying I'm wrongly throwing around the "hater" label when all your posts have something negative to say about the game? I mean... that's what "hater" means. A person that's negative about something. Baffling!

So after years and years of delays and still only having implemented a fraction of promised features, Star Citizen has gameplay loops.

    What an amazing accomplishment.

Watching that incredibly inspired FPS gameplay of the guy emptying entire clips into NPCs makes my fidelity senses tingle and I can clearly see that PC Gaming is saved.

    Hallelujah.

This is like some twilight zone shit here. Are you serious?

You said people were not staying up to date in a thread that shows information just a few days old.
If they were not staying up to date why would they even be in this thread trying to see what the latest video was about.

Having something negative to say does not equal hating, not by any stretch. By that reasoning every critic is a hater, or every sceptic is a hater. It's like saying that criticising the policies of a politcal party makes you a hater of politics, which it doesn't,.

    1. The article contains a video of one recent thing, unfinished, being developed. Not the entire game. And is not an accurate representative of a majority of the current game's playing experience. Easily observed by watching any live streams or recordings within a couple weeks of actual game play.

    2. The posts in this forum thread contains many posts (not all) that seem to be referencing a state of game that is years old rather than what the game's current state is. Old prejudices, old examples, etc, rather than informed, current opinions.

    3. My post was commenting on number 2, offering that maybe some people should take a look at current development and game play as a whole, rather than holding on to opinions based on ancient game states that are worlds apart. Yes, they're making comments in a thread which started with an article that's about current events, but the comments themselves have nothing to do with current events and often even the article itself.

    4. My definition of a "hater" is similar to entries found in various dictionaries and lexicons. Someone who enjoys making a plethora of negative, belittling, disparaging, and often unfair or inaccurate comments about a subject and/or people discussing said subject.

    5. Someone that posts 7 comments within a few pages of a thread that are negative, belittling, disparaging, and in my opinion unfair and inaccurate, seems to me could be seen as a "hater" of the subject. Now if a person were to make a couple of intelligent comments explaining their dislike in a reasonable manner with a desire to discuss an opposing opinion, I wouldn't consider that a hater.

I apologize if I wasn't clear enough so that you thought I was simply stating anyone in this thread wasn't up to date even though it's in a discussion attached to an article that is up to date. That's obviously silly and not what I was saying at all.

Again, many posts in this thread have nothing to do with the video, or about up to date news, but are simply stating negative things about the game in general. Many statements that seem to be focused on anything but the current state of the game and its viability as a form of entertainment.

I was simply trying to offer an opposing view that maybe instead of looking at the past, at specific ideologies of development or sales tactics, just look at the game itself and judge it for what it currently is. In a game play sense. On a website that's focused on a hobby that many people enjoy. Gaming.

You can buy acess to what's available to playtest now and still fully understand that you're helping fund the development of a video-game project that can and will change along the way. It's not "your game" , those items in your pledge package are not "yours". There's no Me in the equation! You are giving money upfront to someone who presented you an idea/project everything else is a bonus.

And If you decide to do so and back it should be because you fully understand these risks, it's all on you. If you expect that by spending more you're entitled to more it's on you too. Accept the risk, asume it and own It like a mature responsible acting adult :)
    100%

but that doesn't work for the trolls who for some reason are extremely jealous of SC and what they've been able to do with crowdfunding.
what exactly have the done with 300 million? Other than buy a lot of over priced garbage (which they finally realized look bad). There have actually been a few RELEASED crowdfunded games. All for a lot less than 300 million. I would almost be willing to bet that every released CF game combined wouldnt reach 300 million 'raised'.

All these guys have done is found the stupidest group of people on the planet to continue to fund their lavish lifestyle. And pay a few hundred people enough money to survive.

They release a bugged out mess every 3 or 4 months which is laughably short of the original goal and call it 'progress'. And people give them more money.

As I have said a dozen times now if there were actual rules and laws at play this would have been exposed as a fraud and a con a long time ago.

Did you missed totally the concept of game development or are you just trolling?

Same stupid excuse from these zealous star citizen supporters. "You just don't understand game development." Wrong. You've invested in/defended this farce for so long that you have no choice to be objective about it anymore. No matter what happens people like you will continue to defend the game until the end of time..even if it never releases. The funny thing is the person you defend every day..Lord Roberts...is relying on naive people like you to keep the lights on in his mansion.

    HEAR HEAR!
Stupid people who think games take many years to make
Good devs can make big games in 1-2 years
Rockstar made Red dead redemption 2 in 2 years! they showed it to us in 2016 and got it out in 2018!

Thats how you make a good game fast!

Not like SC.. they showed it to us in 2012 and still not out 2019? wth right?
They should hire Rockstar super fast devs instead

    1. People were commenting on what they saw in the video, the rest of the game has no relevance.

    2. Would you like to link a few of those comments just so we can be clear?

    3. Regardless of what you "felt" this thread was about current development and you claimed people were not keeping up with that.

    4. People throw around "hater" purely as a method to denigrate opinions they don't like. It's a cheapshot and done to try and invalidate comments.

    5. And this just shows the bias. There was a back and forth going on, there were 2-4 people arguing with claims being made that were being disproved. Just because you dislike hearing facts or just because those facts are negative to your perception of the project does not mean a person is being hateful etc. A lot of fans on this site that are very aggressive, rude people to engage with because they want to paint a particular image of the project which runs contrary to the reality of it.

It is a great video, can't wait to do the missions. As far as responding to trolls and haters, I'm done wasting my time, save your empty thoughts and shallow opinions for someone else. I've reach redundancy threshold
Well it took you sometime but eventually you found the door.
    Bravo.

It was CIG itself who said they would release the product in 2016 if you'd just buy an Idris.
Lots of Idrises were sold, yet somehow CIG still hasn't managed to finish even 25% of the features they promised would be released in 2016.

Somehow the devs that are actually building the game get a pass and the idiots that believe them get all the blame?  How appropriate.

Chris Roberts is worse than Richard Garriott and Curt Schilling combined.

    EDIT: far, far worse.

Sure there is a game but it is so janky, so broken and so badly designed that there is no way it is a good reflection of 8 years work, $300 million or 500 people dev team.

That's because backers just didn't back the game. They also pretty much (lol) paid for the entire studio.

The game is in ship shop shape, step right up to our counter,we have something to sell you.

Well sir,i just want to buy a game,is that too much to ask?Well as a matter of fact, yes it is too much to ask.You see i am greedy,my wife is greedy,we want MORE,give me more,so make sure to spend lot's of money, then we have more to do more marketing, more sales.

At some point we MIGHT deliver a decent game, likely not,i mean why would i give you a quality game when i am getting millions handed to me with very little effort?

Do you even understand how companies work? Chris Roberts and his family don't just get all the money from the backers lmfao... All the money that's been crowdfunded is wrapped up in assets, much of it paid out in salaries/events/utilities (that are non-reversible), etc.

It's so funny that all the haters read each other's posts and just hop on that bandwagon of "This is why SC sucks", "This is why CR is greedy", "This is why I'm an expert on game development and finances". The haters are such a joke and meme of their own now... it's kind of sad actually.

The Cutlass Black rework alone, removing the docking collar was longer then 14 days refund policy. Therefore...
