OP did not even mention SC, come on it will launch hopefully in the coming decade.
Star Citizen will launch in a wildly unfinished state whenever they run out of money, so that they cannot continue development and just need to push the game out the door.
SC a charity just to keep developers employed? It certainly isn't making a "profit".
I prefer the: finish the game so they can sell cosmetics so execs can pay themselves millions a year - probably not the tens of millions a year that A-B and EA pay but still. And maybe take the company public and make hundreds of millions.
Launch and potentially make millions makes much more sense than: keep the developers employed till it runs out of money then shut it down and face probable lawsuits.
No matter how much funding a game has, having enough feature creep can still make it so that that level of funding is nowhere near enough to finish the game. As proof of this, I cite Star Citizen.
Except there hasn't been any feature creep for years - some additional kick starter goals in the early days but they were halted. And why - imo - so that they can release and make lots of money. Lots as in hundreds of millions. A simple financial reason why SC will release.
I was shocked to read a recent post in the last week that said a recent patch for Crowfall is bringing in either all of or some of the building blocks.I thought that was done a long time ago.
I would also guess that Crowfall is the least ambitious, just being a cash shop+Castle building idea with pvp.Pvp takes VERY little work, sure you need those animations and effects but not really THAT long considering there is likely very little actual content.
More importantly is the QUALITY and depth of a game, being first to deliver means absolutely nothing to me.Cadexn said:

VERY likely a true statement. They are all looking for free handouts before they have a finished product ,a recipe for wasting money and failure,so yeah, likely true.

First announced in January 2015. Kickstarter raised $1,766,205. As of June 20, 2016 the total funding has reached $7,210,680 which includes an amount of $2,726,322 from pledges collected from both the Kickstarter campaign and donations taken on the Crowfall website.
Current Alpha / Beta status: ??? Creative Directors: Todd Coleman / Gordon Walton / Raph Koster ( outside advisory role )
Crowfall is scheduled to begin alpha in February, but that doesn't really tell you where the game is at in terms of development. Every game studio seems to use different definitions for these things. At the start of alpha, the game will be more or less feature complete.
The alpha and beta phases for Crowfall are expected to be short. Both will include mostly polishing, balancing and bug fixing, with the main difference being that beta will include a lot more players.
Regarding the financials, the current numbers can be found here:
Total pledges is $5,718,491. I'm reasonably certain this number includes both the money they got during kickstarter, and the money they have collected via selling the pledge packages/items on their website. They did have a separate funding raise via indiegogo/microventures that was available to the general public. To be clear, this was an investment opportunity, not crowdfunding. People who invested actually own shares in the company. In total, it raised about 670k, and I believe that money is part of the Total Equity number listed on the linked page.
Crowfall has raised just shy of 30 mil in total funding, with about 80% of that coming from investors and licensing.

Which means the concerns of the crowdfunding supporters take a back seat to those investors who put up the far great portion of the funding.
I believe this is why they've made decisions to increase PVE content, add a persistent campaign, and some items which increased the delivery date well beyond original projections.

So is Crowfall lets say more like Warhammer or is it basically ESO Cyrodiil?
It's kind of its own thing to be honest. Its more of a survival game mixed with large scale PVP. You have to eat and drink. Craft your gear. IF you die you lose it and you have to recraft it.

While that's entirely possible, I don't think it's an accurate assessment of the situation. The funding has come from several different investment sources. I'm not sure that any of them have enough weight to influence the game in the way you suggest. They could, I just don't believe that to be the case. We've seen many times how feedback from the players has resulted in them making changes.
I think what you are seeing is the result of the game evolving as they develop it. It's fine to have a plan, but if things don't work out like you hoped, then the plan has to be altered. People aren't going to be sieging 24/7. They aren't going to be PvPing 24/7. There needs to be things for people to do when they aren't actively PvPing. City building will be a part of that, and will lead to more PvP (due to caravans). The Divine Favor system will give smaller groups ways to contribute to the war effort. The war tribe mobs give players more things to fight over. Any PvE that gets people out into the world has a chance to create PvP.
It's an MMO, not an MOBA, so people really shouldn't be surprised that there is a nominal amount of PvE. Compared to other games, it's still very little.
The biggest reason the delivery date is well beyond the original projection is because they decided to split archetypes into races and classes. That alone probably added a year. They also went through several iterations of combat before they settled on the current system.
Ultimately, if it results in a better game, no one will care, and I certainly am not bothered by it. I've been playing the game for 4+ years now and having fun.

Losing all your stuff , hell no I am not in the least interested in that game.
So much misinformation here. How much you lose when dying depends on what world/ruleset you play on. Or whether its free for all, 3 way factions, 2 way factions etc. etc. Hell, worlds can even limit what classes and or races you can use and the same goes for rewards in type and amount. The riskier the world, the bigger the reward will be is the general rule of thumb though.
Each world also has a different timer for when it “ends,” so you could play a half a year war of attrition or burn through a two week slaughterfest where everyone is your enemy.

I find your faith in Crowfall amusing. The game is still pre-alpha....you really think it will release within the next 12 months? Maybe closer than the rest, but reading these posts you would think it is in beta 2 or something.
Right - they keep releasing ships to buy and keep pushing back release. It is more like, we got the gullible, now let's milk them for everything. That is why no game should really be developed using Kickstarter funds, it doesn't give the developer any punishment for not delivering. All they have to say is, 'Sorry the game can't be completed.' Then they can walk away with the money.

So i know some of you are more updated on these than me. So out of Crowfall, CoE, Camelot Unchained, AoC, and Pantheon.... Which of these are probably the closest to being ready for launch?
Sorry, there's not a game out there that has shown enough where we can make a decision as to whether or not it's ready for launch. Believe me, I know the wait can be tedious but it just is what it is.

Above, @Arkade99 posted this comment with several mechanics not mentioned in the linked page.
"The Infected world has no loot PvP, but it's also not a regular campaign. It doesn't end and no one can actually win it."
Is this a more recent change?
If true, the Infected campaigns would be of greater interest, I dislike restarting again and again, preferring a more persistent, virtual world like experience.

Yes, it's something they added earlier this year. It's 3 faction. There are 3 siege zones and a central resource zone that has higher rank resources. When you die, you respawn like normal, but you don't leave a cairn behind.
It's important to note, though, that they still plan to tie reward to risk, so don't expect the Infected worlds to have the highest rank resources. I think the current one has rank 7 and 8 stuff (max possible is rank 10). Those ranks might be reduced once they are able to disassociate resource ranks from mob ranks within the same parcel, which is supposed to be coming in the next patch.
With the way they are building the game, they can have a lot of different rules. There may be campaigns that end, but have no loot PvP. There may be campaigns where you drop everything, including your equipped gear. They may have campaigns where you can only join with a common vessel, or where you can only join with a certain set of classes or races. There may be campaigns where the methods of winning are different.
They have talked about all of this stuff in the past, so it's not just me speculating, but obviously there will be a limited number of options prior to launch. A lot more can and will be added post launch. The most popular rulesets will be repeated and the least popular dropped in favor of new ones.
Just received the "Happy New Year" update from City of Titans. No timeline update, though they said earlier they wanted to start beta testing sometime in 2020. They did include a video of their Alexandria zone, which looks gorgeous, but very empty right now.

Yes. The game itself is so half-assed and unfinished. Placeholder textures that say placeholder, mobs that lag, litterally nothing to do it game. A HUGE grind. The game runs like garbage.
The pvp is just zerg vs zerg mentality with a overbearing CC based gameplay with ridiculous spell affects that make it hard to comprehend what is happening. There is nothing to do in game except harvest trees ala a survival game(Feels like you are playing fortnight mechanically and graphically).
The game feels like it has at least 5 years of development left and I understand alot can be changed in terms of combat ect, but I doubt they will; so the will be another GW2 RvR where no one wants to bother with because there is no player skill involved.
I have crowfall and star citizen so I can speak through experience of playing them and playing mmorpgs for 20 years and falling out bad mechanics/designs that I expressed in these forums in the past that came to fruition(Planetside 2 for example).
I foresee this game dying a month or two after launch if it does launch, because its bland instant oatmeal kind of gameplay.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.- FARGIN_WAR

If so, IYO what would be missing or failing which needs corrected before being launch ready?
Genuinely asking as I haven't been following this title all that closely.

I don't either but it is still in pre-alpha, how could it possibly be releasing any time soon?
