Cheat early and cheat often so you can get ahead and once you have the advantage it is unlikely it will be taken away. Slap on the wrist nah not even that.

I don't condone cheating, and I personally do not cheat. There was a time when I used to rant against cheaters.

But over the years it has seemed to me that cheaters don't see themselves as rule breakers, or as engaging in any conduct that affects anyone but themselves.

To illustrate, imagine you walk across a street at some point other than the crosswalk. You don't think of yourself as a law breaker. You see no particular importance to complying with the law against jaywalking. You really don't give it any thought at all. You just cross where it's convenient to you. And you see lots of other people doing it, so you shrug it off.

You can try to explain to them that cheating actually does have a negative impact on the game, but it is unlikely you will persuade them.
We live in societies where bad behaviour, rudeness and a self centred attitude are increasingly the norm. It is no wonder that we see this in gaming too.

If you cross the road "illegally" with no one on the road and no cars in sight, you aren't hurting anyone. This would be similar to finding an in game hole in the environment that you know you can jump into and instantly port you character to your in game house or the main city.

If you cross the road illegally with cars on the road causing people to brake and swerve, possibly causing an accident and injury, that does have an effect. This is similar to using cheats or loopholes in the game to ruin someone else's experience.
