Did this really deserve all the hype?

I was one of the many who thought this game would be amazing. No montly fees, amazing graphics and a ton of stuff that made it sounds great. When the game came out I had fun. For about 3 weeks. Beat the game, made new characters, played some pvp, joined a guild and then basically all there was to do was try and win the HoH over and over and find the best items. So basically the game wasn't all I thought it would be for 3 main reasons...
Lack of content, Very Restricted, Not enough things to do in the game
That's my 2 cents, I thought the game was a dissapointment. I'm moving on to some Roma-Victor and hopefully have some fun, sounds like it should fufill my hopes of a game that finally does it all.

I'm going to agree with you there Devil...
Unfortunately I fell for all the same things. I played the World Preview Event, pre-ordered for the betas and everything. Anticipated purchasing it way in advance because of how stunning the graphics were, and how large the area seemed to be. (Thought there was enough land to explore for at least a couple of months!
)
But alas like you said, Ive now beaten it...created a few new chars....did the HoH and PvP thing...and now what is there to do? Sell $h*t? What a waste of my time...
They have recently announced that a whole new continent is coming in one of the next updates...if that is the case then GREAT and I can't wait for it...but I just hope the new continent isnt part of an expansion pack that I'm gonna have to purchase
Yes, otherwise the EQ2 vs WoW threads would have enveloped the entire web and caused the end of civillisation as we know it.
I got exactly what i expected from it, a good 2 months of play out of it and now a game to play when I want a bit of action. Some people did get a bit carried away, others didn't seem to know what they were buying, I feel sorry for them but at least it was only $50 and not 6 months subscription or whatever, maybe it has made them a bit wiser in future.
I think there is still a lot that will be implemented and it will be interesting to see whether the expansion model works, and that it is still a little too early to truly judge GW.

PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...
Just like with diablo... Whenever Skills are changed or added or a new ladder season starts the game will come alive again.
Personally, the only thing I find repeatily enjoyable in the game is GvG. Skill hunt through the week and GvG on the weekends.
it didnt for sure , poor game was destroid by the hype. now the cumunity is full of wow players with no money ...
anyway i still have hope ... give it more time

Second: sorry mate the new content will be in the expansion. And I agree with that, that's a really better way to do income than charging people monthly. And charging expansions isnt equal to monthly fees, because with monthly fees you pay alot more in the end of the year. Cheers.

So many people say the game sucks yet its holding its own in the market so it must be doing something right for all the wrong that people claim it does. The market says how well the game is doing not the players.
I like this game. But it was over-hyped.
