I don't know about you guys, but I'm actually really psyched about this game. How do yall feel? If you agree with me, this should be at least a point higher, tell me whacha think and if yall agree, lets do something about it:D
I'm pretty psyched about the game myself. I'm sure some of the Roma Victor Fanbois have come through and drove the hypemeter down.
"Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves." ~ Ronald Reagan
Yeah I dont understand the angst coming from the Roma Victor crowd. How many times do they have to be told that the two games aren't even in the same catagory.
Hi, I am one of those "fanbois" from Roma Victor. But let me assure you, both games have the same problem. Immature people who have gotten wind of the game two weeks ago, bashing the other game because they have yet to read even the simplest of reviews or forum posts. I myself have been waiting for Roma Victor since 2001 and have no means at all, nor desire, to play G&H. The only reason is because I don't like mythology as much as I like history, and if it was the other way around I'd probably be posting this in the Roma Victor forums.
All I am saying is don't bash Roma Victor for the fanbois, for the same reason our community shouldn't bashed you for the fanbois. Not all of us are immature, but please don't make us out that way.
Anyways, I voted 7, simply for the creativity in this game, plus it's about Rome.:)

The hype meter of both games has been affected by people that just try to stir up trouble. If you guys wanted to drop by the official RV boards you'd see that the community in no way reflects the bashing going on here. I'm sure this is the case with G&H as well.
Best of luck to you guys, both community and developers.

What is this "physced" you speak about? Also, what sort of weight are you carrying for this game?
I'm kind of psyched, but not so much I'm going to run out and buy it as soon as it is out. I am slightly concerned about the amount of instances and, being one who feels instances do not make an MMORPG, I will see how much they are used before buying.
As for the fanbois- I'm seeing these games as completely different save 1 similarity, they take place during the same time: but one is mythology, the other historic. I do not see any thing else similar than that.
Actually... I would like to see how high this game would be rated if we could eliminate all of the respondents who said to themselves, "If SOE is involved it is getting a zero from me. I don't care how little involvement they truly have."
"The other major issue, as I mentioned, comes in server costs. Since more than 80% of our game is non-instanced, that means that we're talking about 26, 1 square kilometer non-instanced zones that we have to support and keep stable for thousands of players at any given moment. While we do have the lead designer of Diablo II on staff, our server system is dramatically different than the "meet-in-a-lobby-and-connect-to-a-game" type of play. "

I think they are just jealous because in the name of historical accuracy they all have to carry the same sharp stick and wear the same dirty potato sack.
About the association with SOE causing some people to hype the game at 1, I don't think of that as bashing. The hype level rating is an measure of how excited you are about an upcoming game. If you are sure you will not buy this game, then the lowest hype level available is accurate. I wouldn't say the same for reviewing a game though. Since it is broken down in to specific categories for rating, I don't think it's fair for someone to give graphics or sound a 1 because they don't agree with the choice of publisher.
That was uncalled for, especially after such a nice post by Kanoth.
Your just trying to stir up trouble, all the veterans of these two games both know they are is dissimiliar as apples and oranges. The only ones driving ANYTHING down are, as Kanoth stated, the fanbois trying to make trouble. And if you'd like to comment more on Roma Victor, please read more into it, as I have read through the G+H forums and site before coming in here and responding to that post.

Matthius - I think this is a necro-post. . . I don't know anyone with G&H who seems to have anything against Roma Victor at all. All I've ever heard from people about Roma Victor are nice things.
I think it would be silly if people got the perception that there was some kind of rivalry between these two games when it actually only existed for a brief time in the mind of someone who posted in a long-dead thread that was then necro-posted.
I understand, and it was a bit foolhardy for me to go guns blazing at an old topic. (Didn't catch that though, I'm used to posting in front page topics. )
A necro post is?

A necro post is when you revive a post that is well and truly dead. The guilty party here is Schade. Notice that before he posted, the last poster was Grimkunk 2 (back in November of last year).
So... instead of continuing the discussion already started here, you would prefer I start my own topic on how the Hype-Meter has possibly been affected by various groups such as SOE haters and RV Fanbois?
Then you could flame me for not searching for existing threads before creating my own?

I think it's safe to say that posts are dead after 6 months and that it is then safe to create a new one if you think the subject is still of interest to anyone.
back on topic, I gave it a 9. Reading what is being posted on the main game forums, and from my love of roman history and thinking I was personally born too late, I am very excited about this game. Despite what everyone "thinks" is going on, if you read the main game forums, it sounds like development is taking the feedback they receive very seriously, and so far it is progressing right along the lines that interest me. It is not as heavily conflict based as Roma Victor, but seems to add a bit more of the traditional questing based system seen in other MMOs. At least, this is what I read into it. More about character development in relationship to the gods and mythilogical beasts. Roma Victor sounds more traditional conflict based.

I gave it a 7, I just want to stay "neutral" and not hype it. Though i think this game is going to be great, but only the future can tell us.
