I'm flabbergasted that this travesty of a game is still open for business, let alone selling virtual real estate during a medical and economic crisis.
Had to googel the translation for 'flabbergasted'.
Thanks for extending my english vocabulary! ;)

C'mon,  admit it. You thought he just made that word up, right?

7k is nothing to some people. If you're making over 100k a year and aren't married or have kids, you can afford this with zero guilt.

    Should have studied harder.
If you are making over $100K a year you should be smarter than to buy something like this.

Well, unless of course you dance on a pole ... but hey, those girls are always just trying to make money to pay for college,  so they likely wouldn't buy this either.

Common sense isn't all that common these days.

Why does @MMORPG.com call this a crowd funding bundle?

Crowfunding is for unlaunched titles, or for situations where devs announce that they'll add X if they get Y amount of purchases. You'll make term crowdfunding meaningless if you decide you're ok with calling all purchases during a launched game's lifetime as crowdfunding.
In this case the devs are using crowdfunding to develop "Episode Two" or some such expansion content so the term fits.

Though I thought the original funds raised was supposed to provide for like five episodes of content.

I guess their financial projections were a little off.

Cmon, this team brought us selling RGs blood for cash, monthly "begathons", etc.

I think they've well established there's no depth they won't sink to or bar too low to crawl under to raise cash to keep this travesty...err "vision" alive.

Is the "Lord" out of Blood and Hair?

You have to remember lord british left the game, he passed the reigns onto the so called passionate gamers/coders to continue his work. It looks like they ran out of ideas how to keep things afloat and took a leaf out of the guys book that did a runner as a last resort.

I fully undertand if you don't have the player base to keep money coming in regardless of what those people spend on, then the game can not survive because the people left to develop it also need an income to support their own families etc. ( of course that is all well if they are not a family that wants to keep up with the next version of luxury yacht and so on )

But instead of making oneself look like a total bellend how about just calling it a day and being honest with how things are instead of sugar coating stress/financial issues and the like with such horrible pay to keep the ventilator plugged in type of scenarios? They filled the game with so many items with such lack of garbage collection and culling skills in the unity engine coders that most people won't play it because you go to a city of whales to get something either off a vendor or the likes and the game takes a massive fps loss.

There should of been caps on the amount of crap you are allowed to place around your towns, there are reasons why AAA mmo's even cap in games that also have housing or such, even in instanced housing ffs.

Everywhere else in SOTA other than towns is usually ok to be fair but players don't want to just sit in an instance with not much in it just to keep performance up.

Don't get me started on the simple game issues like the map? or how about the quest log? Or how about quests that don't work or are miss represented by what you need to be doing by questing text?

Just the basics are not even correct so this should give you an insight to how this product is not even a developing game but more of a loose type of lets throw in more junk and fluff for the deep pockets ( we have to keep them around or we are done logic ) instead of fixing key crucial game mechanics and features that progress the players feel of what they are doing.

Shocking, one day there will be I hope some kind of board that monitors this type of development process and wether people are fit to run a business for the pleasure of the product purchaser other than just linin their own accounts, because there is for other life purchases just seems gaming industry gets away with it for the most part.

Why are you covering this bs...they are literally selling every imaginable thing you can think of in terms of cash shop, including ingame gold or w/e it's called.

That's how bad these sites are hurting for MMO news. It's not like the old days when there were a bunch of AAA MMOs in the pipeline to discuss. =/

Still, it's news. It's outlandish news but there is worth covering the extremes of the hobby.

$7k for virtual castle, $60k for a mount, and for corona virus donation $0, because priorities...

While I think anyone who pays $7k for a virtual in game item is nuts.....I can't stand this kind of thinking. As if people can't buy things they want with THEIR money as well as donate. And none of your damn business anyway. If you want to give your money away to things you care about YOU do it then.

Curious how much you have donated to COVID-19.....
No one said people cant buy things with their money, infact i think the opposite was stated. and none of his/her business? ohh..so if we disregard that you just blasted a poster for an opinion about monetizing an mmo(thingy)  and in the same process sound whiny about giving things away, is well..retarded. but then again, its none of your business.
Huh? Work on your grammar and maybe I will be able to make out wtf you are saying. And calling someone "retarded" on forums is never going to get you a mindful reply.

We may take the mick; but they launched and are still trying to keep the game going, that is more than some of these CF MMO's.

Old news and it was reported previously, these bundles have been in the store for a long time. What is the point of it ?

This is one of the last moves left for this game; just start selling stuff for outrageous amounts of money.

Although I applaud the last owner for this move, he is thinking too small for the situation. If someone were willing to spend 7,000 for this they'd likely spend 9,999...or more.

Yep at least they launched. There was a free thing way back, i jumped in to check it out, and stayed for awhile becaseu i was having a great time and overall it's a big game, the overland travel was a neat idea.

I really hate to trash talk the game because of the people i met in that world, some of the most down to earth, decent, helpful, folks you'd ever want to meet, every mmorpg would be lucky to have their world filled with these people.

My main grips were performance, the overland travel at first was cool but i'd really just love to adventure to the next town in a world environment, and probably my biggest grip i felt was that they should have wiped the game and have everyone start over at launch.

The economy was screwed for new players, it made the game feel burnt out, used up and forgotten, not new and fresh like it should have, but impossible to tell people whom have been dumping thousands of dollars into the game that.

I amusually the first guy to bash outrageius pries for stuff  but it is th enorm now. At least the game is (sort of) released. So if the money is going to be used to actually improve or (noticeably) advance what they have so farthen whatever I guess.

I havent played it dont have any intentions ofplaying it. Some of the comments from people who have played it seem contradictory but that comes with opinions too I suppose.

I checked it out, amazing peeps playing it, runs pretty badly though, and a few other grips kept me away from an overall great first experience.

Agree It is the norm, when my kids (much older now) first asked me for some money because they wanted to give it to some f'ing guy playing video games is when i realized how f'ed up the world really is.

Poverty, homelessness, but this asshat playing video games is getting massively large donations, this is wrong on so many levels.

But you nailed it, it is the norm now, i still don't think it is, but wtf right?

It comes down to impressionable people i think as when my boys were little, they'd get mad at me for not allowing them to give them money, now that they work and have their own money i've yet to see 1 cent go to these streamers/youtubers or what the f ever scam is being run lately.
