The site of my zen, well, until I cannot find a solution.

I'm reading that if you try to fix things yourself by messing with the permissions the store up and deletes the whole download and leaves some ghost files that take 58 gig. Yikes even if mine does not work I am going to just leave it there until some tech savvy folk find some better solutions then uninstalling and leavings bits behind.

Got a nice .dll error and can’ t launch. Reinstalling......

Did you log into your Xboxapp it needs that. Have you got past the 11 gig dl?

After you open the launcher there is more to be downloaded. Make sure you launch the game from your library. It should automatically open the app. Did you ever remove any of the live stuff before you will need reinstall those elements back or you will get errors.
The 11 gigs was no problem and neither was the update after that. It says a dll is missing although it is right there with all the right authorization etc. Looking into it tonight, hard at work officially  o:)

    Lahnmir
I'm not only going to be wrong about this, but I will come off as condescending as well.

But is it a Windows dll that you are missing? It has happened to me in the past. Is there a specific error?

When it is a windows dll, you just Google it and download it and plop in in your win32 folder.
No worries. It is indeed a specific dll which I downloaded etc. but the exact same dll was already present but simply isn’t being recognized. Giving it another go in a couple of hours, got a bit more time then.

Okay I'm screwed I restarted to update my windows now the play button does nothing the game will not continue downloading what it was doing before the restart.

Okay uninstalled and redownloading the 11 gig. I couldn't actually uninstall since nothing happened when I tried to uninstall it. Since it was in my drive D I just deleted the folders and then it was available for reinstall .

Bricked up my game will not launch for second part of the download. Alright I will give up for now. Wait a few days till some concrete workaround is tested.

Got 20+ gigs of ghost files on both my SSDs now and no game working. I am at install number 5  and had to actually repair windows and certain apps that stopped functioning. This is beyond ridiculous...

Took me a couple hours to sort this mess.

    1) Had to grant permissions for myself to be able to delete all the crap microsoft store kept adding with this game.
    2) In my case I had to go to Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\pso2_bin and delete it. As well as in Local Disk\WindowsApp\MutableBackup which had over 100GB of failed PSO2 downloaded (and rising! had to turn off internet to stop windows store from continuing after several restarts)
    3) If uninstall does nothing, like it did for me, go taskmanager and stop the process: Gaming Services. Apparently if you do that and restart, the game will delete itself. Very nice...
    4) For troubleshooting reddit has a nice list of errors people stumbled upon: https://www.reddit.com/r/PSO2/comments/grkkft/pso2_mega_bugfix_community_thread/
    5) I'm not touching this hot mess until there's updates.

    Damn you microsoft store..

I can´t even change permissions at this point. What an utter mess. Hope there comes a fix soon, got 50 gigs less to use now and no game to show for it.

Edit: Had to change permissions to enter AND edit folders, my mistake. At least I can delete the left over garbage now.

Yeah, the first time I downloaded it, it worked just fine with the preload, but the game wasn't up yet, so I wasn't able to get in the game and then the issues started.  Then I tried uninstalling which said it worked, but it still took like 60 gigs of space, which sucks, because I installed it on a game streaming service which charges for the space you use... so... super crappy when I thought I was going to be just.. out of that additional space.

But I ended up installing it on a secondary partition, which I advise everyone to do if they can, because it was much easier to manage, and remove the data if you have an issue.

That being said, I was able to clear the data out of the mutable backup location, just took a few to get the user accounts right on the streaming service. What a pain.

The few friends I have that got into the game didn't preload and haven't had issues.. and the servers are full.. so I guess there are issues.. but it's hard to say how many people are experiencing them. I'm guessing quite a few.

It is a pity because the game is not at fault here it is the Microsoft store that is to blame but it has 77% one star rating at the store right now.,
