Black Lives Matter isn’t a political issue. It’s a human rights issue. A moral issue. An issue of ethics. In fact, politics is woefully unequipped to address this issue. Caring about the life of another isn't political. Its moral. Americas morals have been broken since inception.
Saying Black Lives Matter doesn't mean other lives don't. If you call yourself a Christian, an American, a progressive, a conservative, an atheist, a constitutionalist, or a human of this earth — there should be nothing controversial about this statement. The only people who are "Pissed off" by this statement are bigots anyway and the opinion of a bigot means little in modern society today.
Since George Floyd, police have killed 120 more people in America. Let that sink in. Almost all of them were black. America has a problem. Several black men have been lynched (actual hanging from trees) since George Floyd's murder. America has a problem. This is why we are saying Black Lives Matters.
It does not matter who is tired of hearing it or seeing it. We are tired of living it.
Log off the internet, unplug, do what you must to make it go away for YOU. But Understand, It doesn't go away for me and others like me. We cant take off our skin.
Keep lying to yourself and act like its "Politics" This isn't a political issue.. its a human rights issue and Human rights issues leak into EVERYTHING.
Instead of bitching about BLM (because you somehow make it about you and how you feel inconvenienced by it), you can help. Help build a new reality. Talk to your family and friends to avoid perpetuating systemic racism. Do something besides bitch about a movement you have nothing to do with in the first place.

Secondly, you don't know what oppression is if you think people rioting is oppression. The Riots are a response to literally hundreds of years of Oppression. For BLM to be the Oppressor would imply that BLM has some form of power to change laws that would perpetuate said Oppression. Which is certainly not the case, its actually the opposite. The BLM movement is the Oppressed that are tired of accepting their current state.
You have an issue with this, which is why you were looking for a reason to discredit an entire movement.. you chose rioting. BLM is still about all the things it's about, Police Reform one of many things on the list.
Funny, I never see these conversations when white people riot because their baseball team won or lost a game. I never see this conversation with anyone but the oppressed. It's used against us to discredit a movement for change, but smart people know better.
I don't care if it takes 100 Walmarts to burn down, if that's what it takes to get them to listen to us then that's what we will do. Billion Dollar Companies can replace items and buildings. You cannot replace a life.
A Protest and a Riot are the voices of the unheard and ignored. In that order.

Really...Interesting. I thought it was black people that are...you know what? Nevermind. How about this.
On 9/11/20 I think we should say All Buildings Matter. Even though it's about the Twin Towers lets focus on ALL BUILDINGS. Because saying the Twin Towers matter is somehow saying other buildings don't matter so instead of focus on the twin towers for 9/11 let's focus on all buildings!

It's kind of like how proposing that we should "make America great again" is reasonably anodyne in itself, but by usage as a slogan, has come to mean expressing support for a particular politician. Again, it's clever marketing, but not valid reason to support whatever the politician in question says.
Or to take a parody example, I once read about an episode of a television show where there was some crazy cult that called itself the "reasonabilists". Being reasonable is good, but that doesn't mean that everyone should sign up for whatever some crazy cult that labels itself wants to do.
However, while Black lives do matter in the common English meaning of the word, they don't matter any more or less than they did a month ago or a year ago or a decade ago. Nothing about the intrinsic value of a human life has changed in that time. I hate the faddish nature of everyone piling on whatever the latest popular slogan is, then all moving along to the next soon enough.
Statistically, about 1/4 of the Americans killed by police are black. I don't know about the last month in particular, but in most months, "almost all of them black" would be wildly false.
Furthermore, a large fraction of police shootings are justified. About 3/4 of them occur when the person shot is pointing a gun at someone, actively firing a gun, or in the process of assaulting someone. Merely counting the number of people the police killed isn't at all similar to counting the ones that were unjustified. When the police stop an attempted murder in progress, that's heroic, not criminal.
And yes, sometimes the police do kill people when it's not justified. The cop who killed George Floyd is probably going to get some years in prison as a result. But unjustified killings by the police are less common than the latest media frenzy might lead you to believe, and a very small percentage of murders in the US.

This is exactly why we are saying BLM. You don't get it.
There are far too many black people that are innocent being killed by police.
Bottom Line.
Don't tell me what BLM means, I know what it means, do you? It means exactly what it says. BLACK LIVES MATTERS.
All the other faux sayings are red herrings to try to take away power from the original slogan.
What's crazy is, people are attacking this (BLM) when all we are basically saying is
stop killing us.
The first thing that you and others do is throw up some random stats you heard and say "black people aren't even killed that much unless its justified."

The truth is there for you to see yourself you just refuse to see it. Where are you getting data from? Sample Size? There are a lot of factors.
Black Americans are two-and-a-half times as likely as white Americans to be killed by police officers. This is a fact. Not my opinion. The data supports it. You can say whatever you want, you will never change my mind on this because I can see the reality. All you need to do is get on social media and see it yourself. White people are policed differently than blacks in America. Bottom Line. I've seen white people walk to a courthouse with loaded ARs and all I could think is if they were black....
My point is, no matter what you say the face is there are too many black people being killed by police, you don't even hear about ALL of them, it has to be on camera to make news these days, and most of THE police never get charged with anything because of the Immunity Act which is another thing we need to get away with. Police should not be above the law.
I don't care that people think its a fad or want to jump on a bandwagon none of that diminishes the reality for me. I know what's real and what's fake. I don't care about ANY of these corporate statements especially because I know they are pandering and never did anything to support my community until now. But I am also thankful that they are speaking up fake or not because it's helping to move the conversation forward. That's the goal as far as I'm concerned. Help to create a new reality.

I don't care about Social Acceptance, that's the problem with White America, they think Social Acceptance is enough. It's not. Social Empowerment, Political Power.. all of that is nothing if it does not come with Economic Empowerment. We aren't equal until EVERYTHING is shared in America that includes the Generational Wealth black people helped to create here. But let's talk about that word. Imagination.

Imagine being affected by Redlining
Imagine being told you don't have civil rights
Imagine being told "you cant ______ here" because of your skin color
Imagine saying Stop killing us, stop treating us like we dont matter black lives matter and somebody white saying "But What about All Lives Matters"
Imagine going to every major war in this country but never having citizen rights after the war was over.
Imagine saying black people are killed by police at an alarming rate and a white person saying "but the stats! what about Chicago!"
Imagine every time you speak up, somebody tells you to be quiet because at least Obama.
Imagine being a gamer that loves games but growing up in the 80s/90s you rarely see yourself represented in-game culture if it all.
Imagine a white person pointing out that you should be happy about having peanuts while they eat a full course meal with Uncle Sam.
Imagine. Imagine having the gall to think you can speak on something you will never experience.

That's just one example that you would think would resonate well, but no one cares.
