Couple questions before buying.

Sorry for bugging you guys but I would like these questions thanks:

1. Is the game all jedi? Like, are they overpowred to the point where other people stnad no chance against those them?

2. How long would it take to get to Jedi? How about Bounty hunter?

3. How's the PvP? Fun or abandoned?

4.Lastly is it worth it I've played WAAAY to many MMOs that totally sucked

**The game is not all jedi. sort of over powered most people though can still stand a good chance of owning jedi.

**I am a master bounty hunter master rifleman and it took me about a couple weeks of casual but at the same time grinding hard. Oh but there was a double xp week that got me there. Jedi on the other hand... You have to finish like 2 or more theme parks, get a bunch of badges and go threw a quest system in a town that works on a real time schedual. So say if tomorrow there is the second part of the test and you missed it, you have to wait until the quest comes back again.

3. How's the PvP? Fun or abandoned?

**The PvP rocks. If you find a good guild you can have a blast. Although guild wars kind of suck because you get clone camped and jumped by stupid imperials called FBI... They are lame!

4.Lastly is it worth it I've played WAAAY to many MMOs that totally sucked

**It is worth a try. It is very different from other games out there. you can get the game for 30 dollars US (i think, or 20 not sure) and 30 days free.

Yah players can own a jedi. If they go to ebay and buy one. hahaha

Dont bother getting SWG right now. The game still has bugs from beta 1 in it. Jedi are the developers pets and if you arent one of their fanbois or jedi then you migth as well not exist to them.

Jedi have utterly destroyed the game. It isnt worth buying. I played it for 2 years and feel like a huge idiot for wasting that much time and money.

If jedi were gone then I would definately come back. But jedi are nothing but a god class and you can NOT put a god class in a MMO and balance it. Everytime you try its nothing but grief.

Lastly the customer support is pure garbage. Worst I have ever encountered in any game. They make Counterstrike support look like a wonderful afternoon discussion on your favorite topic.

SWG is about as Star Wars as Gilligan's Island

--> Definitely not all Jedi. I am a 2 year veteran and never needed a Jedi and that applies to many of the veterans I know. Jedi are about 50 % stronger than a highest level fighter, but a good fighter will always defeat a Jedi who does not know what he is doing. And THAT I have seen many times. Heck, you dont even have to be fighter at all to have fun. As a crafter or entertainer you will have a LOT to do. And I have seen too many Jedi die in civil war PvP battles to believe in their invincibility. Often they dont even reach our lines.

Bounty Hunter and maximum CL 80 fighter ... about a month of average playtime, or 2 months casual play. You can do it in one week of mad grinding if you want.
Jedi ... no less than 6 months, and that assumes intense gameplay and countless hours of mindless XP grinding. About 1-2 weeks to become glowy (the force is with you), exactly 18 weeks minimum to become force sensitive, about a week for padawan trials and exist quest to become Padawan, a few months to become Jedi Knight and a few more month to rise in rank as jedi. About a year is typical I would say.

Server dependent. On my server (Naritus) I would call it medium intense and fun (Vader himself gave our imperials the order to reconquer Tatooine from the rebels last week so you can imagine that battles have started all over the planet. He gave them the order to conquer Naboo at the end of 2004 and they did - keep in mind, Naritus has the highest percentage of rebels of all servers).
Lots of dueling at Dantooine Mining Outpost (I wont comment on that .. imagine a WoW PvP server with a lot of young players :-)
Bounty-Hunter-Guild http://www.swghuntersguild.com/  gives you some of the best, most competitive and  friendly PvP you will see on any server.

I think its worth it if you look for a MMORPG  you play for a longer time and you never want to get locked into a class or profession. You can always change into anything you like - total freedom. Just dont fall into the trap of the mindless Jedi grinding that leads to so many people burning out and starting to troll SWG boards.

Thanks for your help everyone! I'm pretty sure I'm goning to buy this game only competion is DAOC.  O and Erillion about your comment on the Dantoonie Mining Outpost and the WoW server. Aren't those EVERY WoW PVP server?

I just got it dread and I hope you're getting the T.E. It is so new player friendly read my post "Why TE rocks" it says it all. You get a BARC speeder basically its like the motorcycle like speeders from Empire strikes back lol they pwn  Anyways even the crafting just blew me away, I never wanted to craft in any game even Horizons but I tell you this:I'm gonna make my own space ships

Imo, theres no better crafting system in any mmo.

I'm pretty much a pure pvper in every game I have ever played, swg is the only one I managed to find something else to do in besides pvp, and that was mainly due to the ease of being a tradeskiller (Tailor/Merchant) was amogst the most fun I have ever had on an mmo.

Not a problem

No the game isn't "all Jedi" but I will agree with most that there are entirely too many. Not much that can be done about it though as getting LucasArts to take Jedi out is kind of like getting a price cut from the post office ... it just aint gonna happen

How long to get Jedi?
Hmm... about 2 weeks to get glowy if you're actively working at it.
About 18 weeks if you're really working at it (it's time gated) to finish all the force sensitive quests.
About another week to get through the padawan trials.
Once you're jedi padawan it all depends on how hard you're working at it. I'd say about 6 months to get a fully templated Jedi.

PVP is very very fun and very active, at least on my server.

In my opinion it's very worth it. It has the most depth and variety of any MMORPG around. It CAN be daunting at times because there's so many different things to do sometimes even I log in going "what do I want to do today?" But as far as 'things to do' No other MMORPG offers as much varietey or depth to it's content.
