Bit sad, i like the idea of Crowdfunded games. Some really good games has come from it as well (Grim Dawn, Pillars of Eternity etc,). I’d also not expect to get anything back if a game failed as long as the development process was open and didn’t steer of course (star citizens bloat, ashes of creation battle royale)

I'd avoid downloading that trash as it probably has a wall of text TOS that, hidden somewhere in super small print, says, by downloading it, you agree that their obligation is fulfilled and you can't sue them.

Noted. I'm curious, however, what you're basing that on? Is it based on your development experience? Your insider knowledge into what business deals they've been working on? Have you peeked at their Gantt chart? Maybe you feel like using purchased assets from the Unreal Marketplace won't speed up development? Could it be you know that their choice of programming language for the server will slow down development? Anything? You got anything to substantiate your claim?

I think it is waaaaaay to early to be complaining already but this site is great for negativity overload.
They have also been working on this project for years before kickstarter. Most companies come to kickstarter with just an idea, but Soulbound studios came in with a partially complete project before they started there campaign for more funds.
While I understand about unrealistic timelines I really feel that the guys who have been working on the design of the game for the last 10 years, who are currently working on the game and who will be doing the work are in the best position to determine what timeline is most suitable.

Well looks like this is actually going to be a litmus test regarding some of the legal questions we all talk about:

Great news @everyone, we've gotten in contact with McCathern Law Firm and spoken with the lawyer who's taken up our case on that front. He's confirmed he'll be filing the Class Action at the end of the month and begin taking action following that. The agreed upon price of his service is set at 35% of all potential winnings, and the estimated timeline for this case will be anywhere from 1 to 4 years. We asked him whether individuals outside of the US can join in, to which he said he was unsure and would get back to us at a later date.
Once everything's set, he'll be having his assistant join the discord to begin gathering information from us and the general community. They'll be given admin permissions at the time of joining so you'll be able to easily identify them. All details of the case may be freely discussed amongst the community, although I expressly ask that any questions involving the firm first be posed here before calling them as to minimize distractions and inconveniences for the lawyer in question.
Lastly, I would like to think @Shadow Strider for setting everything up and signing off with the lawyer. Thanks to his actions and efforts, we've now got a solid point to go forward from, and are one step closer to seeing a solid legal resolution to this case. Please be sure to thank him.

A few small updates to that from people who asked:
- The firm is filing a joint case against SbS and Xsolla.
- At the present time, you don't need to do anything. There'll be emails sent out a latter time asking if you wish to opt in.
- Even if you've done a chargeback to your bank, you may still be eligible to participate. Information on this is pending right now, and the lawyer in question will address this at a later time.
- As it currently stands, this case DOES NOT prevent you from continuing to use Xsolla for other purchases. I'll update this after emails are sent out in the event that changes.(edited)

Yea, at the very least even if it's too late to close the barn doors after those particular horses all escaped, they clearly learned a lesson. They didn't anticipate that millions in pre-orders could last almost a decade only to collapse and have to be refunded back then, but they sure are aware of that possibility now, that's for sure.
