I am still looking forward to the NDA being dropped so everyone can see what's truly up with the game.  Until then, all these press releases are just more chatter.

Look, another game that nobody really knows anything about but will come here to bash it anyways.

I hope it turns out good. It has a lot going for it and I like the art style.

If you "hope" it turns out good then you don't know shit about it either.

See that's the problem, shit's been in development for seven years and we still don't know much about it because of the NDA.  We're not bashing the game (what game?), we're unhappy with the development time and secrecy.  At least, I am.

    ...SIGH
    "New art " "concepts".
So i was right,he is building this on a whim without pre planning the entire game.WTF you can't just build a game on a whim, every single piece of the puzzle needs to be WELL thought out,BEFORE you even think about starting the project.

It is not the same as doing textures on the fly, that is perfectly fine. However you need the entire idea from cities to dungeons,al lth ecombat ideas, you need to spend months and prepare a LOT of paperwork on the design step by step. This is the same reason Robert's is so incompetent,he is also trying to build a game on a whim.Robert's is going to end up with close to 240++ million and build a 40 million dollar game,200 million wasted by incompetence.

Someone donates a 100 bucks to a game 5 years ago and you "feel bad" for them, really? That's like two nice dinners somewhere, It's not someones life savings.  I'm pretty sure they've "financial recovered" by now.

Other indie MMOs in alpha (and remember, the CU developers actually claim to be in a beta state) like Star Citizen and Ashes of Creation are willing to share video footage of the game to everyone.  Star Citizen even has their free fly events where anyone can play the alpha.  CU?  Still hiding behind the NDA.  Still talking and talking and talking and sharing concept art.  Ask Mark Jacobs about it, and he'll get snarky and remind you that they're not under an obligation to show anything to anyone.  To me, this indicates that there is simply nothing worth showing after seven years of development.  If there was, they'd be shouting "guys, don't worry, here's video proof that we've made great progress!"  They'd be desperate to show how well things are coming along to counter all of the bad will that's occurring.  They can't say that, because there's nothing worth showing.  That's my opinion.  Up to them to prove me wrong.

What about when they offer to have us play it? Those who donated that is. I mean, that's not "nothing."

The last play test was June 20th. I think, for those who gave money, being able to play it for bits here and there is fine. Whether or not it's what they hoped for is another thing entirely.

They are years late at this point in what they promised.

Regardless of your personal feelings about it - it's pretty shitty of them to have missed all these dates over and over and over again.

Yet somehow I sleep at night. Look, it's obviously cool if you gave money and you're pissed.

When I give money to these things I go in expecting that it very well could fail. Heck, I expect it to fail and prepare to be pleasantly surprised.

I really think people shouldn't give money if they "expect" these things to not only launch but launch "as advertised" without changes.

They would be doing themselves a huge favor.

Because many of the most  successful MMORPGs like WOW, FFXIV, and ESO are F2P.

Oh wait, they aren't, go figure.

That’s what I did years ago.  I just read on MassivelyOP that they hope to have a test this weekend.  I may load it up and see where they are at.  Maybe once they have semi-permanent servers that are up every weekend I’ll leave it installed.

Also, Mark has far more personal money invested than all the backers combined so it’s not like he is just delaying to milk more sales.  I think building this game engine proved to be a far greater challenge than he and Andrew originally thought.  I also think they moved the goalposts related to the engine and what they are producing is far more complex than they envisioned at Kickstarter.

My current disenchantment is related to the excuse given for delaying refunds.

After what they pulled, i would wait until genuine behavior comes into play, because right now, it looks just like another cashgrab.
