This game has way more content than Anthem at launch. Ex-Anthem player here.
It has a bigger and better story, more robust characters, better combat system and better loot system. Its just a way better game currently than Anthem ever was. Even with all the patches that came through over time.
It has deep, meaningful skill trees, great and satisfying combat, lots to grind for, build diversity etc. The 6 heroes play vastly different than one another and they all kinda fullfil the rpg roles (Hulk being the tank, Black widow the assassin, Kamala support etc)
Yes multiplayer is experiencing issues and there are crashes and bugs, but not that many, for me anyway. The other issue is the MTX store, but thats more on Square Enix than CD. They at least gave us the original 6 Challenge card for free, which gives you back approx 70 dollars in real time currency for you to use, which is nice.
I had a ton off issues for the first few days. Random crashes and freeze ups were plentiful. I followed some online guides, changed some settings and play it in windowed and it runs fine now. Hopefully they can sort that out. I just finished the main quest line, took about 20hrs, but those are the only quests Ive done so far. I left all the hero quest chains and side quests to do once I had all of the heros unlocked.
Overall I've really enjoyed the story and the gameplay is awesome. The annoying parts are all the running back and forth on the air ship and a really clunky dodge system, on keyboard at least. I've remapped the keys and still am not really comfortable with that aspect.
I think it is clear that Ms Marvel is not what is wrong with MA, but I do think it strange that Michael has to point that out. Maybe not being on social media has some blessings?
We should all be used to this by now, the big title release that comes out too soon, keep your money in your wallets this is now how AAA gaming rolls. Wait for the reviews, not the hype.
My comments re: Kamala Khan had nothing to do with responding to internet chuds online who are railing against the game for featuring a Muslim lead. I was speaking purely to the idea that having a protagonist who is a Marvel fangirl herself was a genius move to tell a story like this. Kamala Khan is essentially the player. We're fans of the characters the same way she is, so it works out great to have a game centered on her as a POV character.
And for anyone responding to this thread with comments about how this is all some SJW conspiracy or whatever other garbage you're planning on spewing, just save it. You're going to catch a permanent ban for it. You're not welcome here. Take that crap elsewhere.

Love all the people who have not played nor judge the game for themselves, hating on it. Video games are suppose to be fun, well for myself that is the #1 factor. Having an absolute blast teaming up with my son and my friends. Put a good 20 hours into the game after the story still loving every minute. It is just what it set out to be an ARPG with co op. They from day one never said or told us it would be anything other then an ARPG, looking for Spiderman or Arkham ( both amazing games) play them this is not nor had pretended to be those. Want a hack n slash grind looting game with super hero's then this is for you.
Never mind the stupid micro transactions and that it seems to be a Chinese rip off of the Avengers the fact that they have motion blur that can not be disabled in 2020 is just mind blowing. As someone who gets motion sick very easy and despises micro transaction games this is a hard pass.
Not only that but it's pretty insulting to the Avengers.

Wow, thank you for that. I did not know that motion blur cannot be disabled and I am with you. I cannot play games with it and I did my first ever Steam refunds this year due to it. It should always be able to be turned off.
I was already not going to buy it but now its not even a question even if on sale.
Motion blur can be disabled from the launcher options.

The worst part about this game if you can see past the lack of endgame and the severe performance issues/crashes a lot of people are experiencing is that everything is saved client side. What kind of epic idiot made this decision for a GAAS game?
Cheating will be rampant in multiplayer and it already is (assuming you can get a game) people have 99999999 in all stats and are invincible wrecking balls. Yea I'm totally going to buy battle passes and costumes for a cheater-filled game.
They already have their "open battlenet" in place that will be cheat filled, they need to add a server side only "closed bnet" asap if this is going to work out for them.
All of that said, the game is really fun. Roaming around smashing shit up with Hulk, tossing Mjolnir at baddies heads and flying around as iron man raining rockets on robots and lasering their faces is very satisfying. The heroes and combat are, for the most part, well done and enjoyable. I could see this being a great game in 1-2 years with proper amounts of content and hero releases but it's currently very bare bones in the content department once you finish the short campaign (which was pretty decent). To invoke Anthem while describing a game is cruel, but in terms of sustainability I get that vibe as well, but the game itself is better than Anthem in my opinion; credit where credit's due. At least Anthem had working multiplayer and SERVER SIDE SAVES at launch so bonus points for that.
I'm not a marvel fanboy, so I don't give one sh** about this game. I didn't see any marvel movies since the original... What was it called. The Marvel Racoon... The first Guardians of the galaxy. "I am Groot." That's the last Marvel film I saw. It was alright. Overall nothing special lol. Who wastes their times liking this crap?

Sure there have been Supers Stinkers from both the Marvel and DC gaming stable, but some great ones too it is just a shame they are not all on the PC.
Any big IP suffers from the issues Shoko mentions, they are seen as a gravy train where fans will excuse failings, but has that happened here. The guy who did this article and many fan posters on here are expressing reservations. Personally I won't buy it until I see reviews but then that's what I always do.
Oh and if you didn't like GotG I don't think you will ever like a supers movie so that should help save you some time.
