Epidemiologists said at the very start, before any politics, that this pandemic will take 2-3 years to run its course.
I believe them.
They also said millions would be dead in the first months......
As far as what I've read or watched those millions that could/would die in the first few months was if governments did nothing.
Thankfully governments have not done nothing.
P.S. according to your president, he's saved 2-3 million+ lives from covid so far.
Sweden did little...no millions dead there....
Sweden is actually doing quite a lot of stuff. Their limiting public gatherings, and have a lot of recommendations in place.
It's not as dramatic as enforced lockdowns, but they had to back away from their initial stance that they'd be able to get herd immunity and start limiting the spread.

As you pointed out they did little....recommendations and limiting public gatherings is pretty much little compared to the rest of the over indulging fear porn watching world.

...you mean experts such as Neil Fregusson above?
Or case in point, when entirefield of expertise is just a pseudoscience - watch the video of APA chairman speech I posted. Amazing, admirable introspection.
@Cryomatrix ....your reply or rather stance to whole situation still boggles my mind.
I cannot fathom one thing:
In usual medical practice, people seek a medical attention when they have some health issues. So when someone walks into your office and you find out clinical symptoms of acute respiratory illness wiht indication of posibility the illness might turn severe, you perform tests and try to find the source of their issues so you can setup the best treatment plan.
But today, when someone walks in, and does not even show ANY symptoms of respiratory issue, we immediately seek out for mere presence of only 1 particular virus, or rather just small part of it.
My question(s) then is:
How come it does not strike you, as a practicing physician, that without any clinical symptoms, without any evidence of being infected, being infectious or w/e, we label absolutely healthy people as ill?
How come it does not strike you that we throw out entire medical practice and common sense out of the window?
How come it does not bother you they turned entire medicine upside down? How can you even call this medicine any more?
...how can you, as pracitcing physician, be fine with all that?

What do you do for a living? Should we judge all others of your trade by the crap that comes from you?
....sure, since you still haven't pointed out or argued against anything he said.
I'm not into watching a 57 minute speech. If your trying too tell me that there are conscienceless shysters in the medical/pharmaceutical industry all I'm going to say to you is Duh.
If your trying to tell me that the whole industry is like that, well... my life experience has shown me different.

...so you made 2 smartass replies/comments despite having 0 clue what I am referring to.
Priceless.

@Cryomatrix , I and other recent posters have been talking about Covid. You throw in some video link for some shrink's 57 minute speech and I'm clueless?

For the record, I work in Construction. Been doing it for roughly 35 years now.
Want to hear sad, I was talking with someone at the onset of the Covid19 thing, about how masks will not protect you, that you would need a full face shield, and non-permeable fabric outfit (Painters outfit from Home Depot would work) to stop the coughs from other people from infecting, and even cited OSHA guidelines and rules about what masks work against. I explained further that the masks at best, MIGHT stop a sick person from infecting others, because it could contain the cough from a forward direction.
Their response was "I trust science, Dr Facui said masks work" and they went so far as to call OSHA, get this, they called OSHA "Bubba the Mask Maker"
Lo and behold, they come out and explain to the public the masks contain, not protect, you from the virus, exactly as I explained.
The saddest part of this, is that I had medical doctors, like, doctors that work in hospitals, disagree with me.
So, to be honest, while I often try to respect people's professional knowledge on a subject, and this is not directed at you, there are two factors that will make me question their competence.
The First is: If politics are involved at all.
The Second is: If they are making a MMO.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.

My trade is Tool & Die and I own a manufacturing/precision-fab job shop with 26 employees.
This pandemic sucks and we all got to live through it no matter what we individually believe.
A consistent message from all levels of government sure helps.

Lol these union workers are morons. So to stop a closure of an office they are going to strike? As if that wouldn't accelerate their jobs being removed and now they known to other would be employers and being a problem.
The French are great at protecting the worker, but.. corporations get away with planetary leeching and enslavement with no fear of wars or deaths, not even prison sentences. What can you do? Well.. maybe say you cant come here unless you agree to..
*shrug*
Best of luck to them in the newest mentioned fight in the people vs the corporate overlords.
