wasn't close to a grinder. You've never played a grinder mmorpg if you think Aion was a grinder. It was also quest based (with soe good quests but most dull.)

It was their attempt at a "World of Warcraft" style game.

A grinder game is a game where you go out, find a spot and just grind mobs to level. That's it. You don't grab quests, turn them in and then rinse and repeat.

Your argument boils down to "x is not a grinder because it's not as bad as y." No, x and y are both grinders. Y is just even more of a grinder than x.

And intent doesn't matter. Aion may well have been their attempt at a WoW style game, but they fucked it up, very fucking atrociously badly - because NCSoft can't make their crap games not a glacial, unrewarding slog to play even when that isn't the goal.

No, my argument revolves around Aion being a quest based game and the whole grinder thing came about as "you go out in the field, dungeon, wherever and just grind.

Additionally, Aion isn't bad at all in leveling and "espeically" as compared to actual grinder games.

On that note, it looks like they are getting a classic server in Korea so we'll see if we get one.
