QUestion: Hot MMORPG

hey guys, im just coming out of MMORPG retirement, and i was wondering whats the new hot game (or old) that i should play. I played eq for over 3 years and daoc for about 5 months. I am seeking a game (scifi, fantasy, medieval) and i dont want it to take as much time to level like eq. and i dont want to spend endless hours racking up money to be good in daoc (armor). also i need not so high system requirements, meaning my computer is lakcing in ways. I have p3, 256ram, voodoo3 video card, dial-up connection (yuk) i know it sounds bad, but i get through with it. anyway, state your opinoins, im looking for a fun game with pvp and pvm.  thanks

well, my opinion is.. wait for WoW.  I think that's what many of the MMORPG population is waiting for.  It doesn't take too high system req as eq2 or lineage2.  But we don't know when it'll come out from past blizzard release experiences.  beta is due this Q4, and to come out Q1 next year.  Although, I've heard some good stuff about rubies of eventide if you wanna try that.

Hi and welcome back for retiement.

I know that mmorpg has evolved to the point demanding good specs from our computers.

Have you considered spending like $70-100 dollars to upgrade the system.

For that amount you can buy an extra 256 RAM and say a geforce3ti or a FX5200.

You computer motherboard is probably a bit old so you might have to go with a geforce2ti since it might not have an AGP slot.Also checj the type of RAM.

So for a little upgrade you can play all the mmorpg out  there.Granted you will lag and have to avoid crowded places but it is quite playable.

Rubies of eventide will probabaly take your system specs but it will be laggy(or choppy as i been asked to call it hehe),but its an ok game.

As for WoW, specs have not been given yet  and forget that Q1 release ,we talking about blizzard here  who have never been on time with a game before.And most mmorpg are late to release ,add the fact that this is blizzard first mmorpg effect.

I can go on record and say i predict a dec 2004 release date for it.

hey, thanks and its good to be back. what type of game is WoW, is it like starcraft, where u make armies and stuff? because i dont like those kind of games. I have heard many people say that i should wait for horizons, so ill go look up some info on that game, it sounds interesting. as for the upgrading, i do have about $100 from birthday money that i can spend. so i guess i should be alright. feedback please.

WoW (World of Warcraft), is an MMORPG based in the warcraft universe. WoW is the one I'm waiting for as well.. you can check it out at www.blizzard.com/wow. Until that release ( no telling when it comes to Blizzard.. they take thier time to make the games perfect. ) I'm eagerly awaiting for Horizons which should be coming out early November. You can check out horizons at www.istaria.com and www.tazoon.com. There's quite alot of mmorpgs breaking through nowadays though that you will have plenty of choices

If you like the Warcraft series you may want to look at WoW, otherwise I think you would be disappointed. Horizons seems to be a game more geared to the rest of the MMORPG community in the from of those who have played EQ, AC, or UO. Its gonna be awesome.
