My current favourite game is Animal Crossing New Horizons
It's a game where you decorate your own island and home, and do things like fish and collect bugs. The time passes in real-time so that 1 day in real world equals to 1 day in your own island, so that most of the time you visit your island once a day.

FUN,well I played the new Serious Sam,a few disappointments but in reality it was more of the same silliness one liners and killing baddies. It was just that after idk it's been 15 years or so I expected a big step up in game design instead of just the same old new maps. I don't think FUN is in the equation much anymore as most games are just focused on grinds to incorporate cash shops. Then if you do find something fun it is likely overboard silly, like those D rated movies.
I tend to play quite a bit of hearthstone of late but can be real frustrating since the design favors heavily on p2w builds and not much room for competing with FUN decks.I get super bored just playing with and against the same decks over and over and over, sometimes I logout after 2 games.
Point being it is VERY tough to find a FUN but serious game to play, mostly silliness and grinds.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I'm playing Fae Tactics at the moment. I wasn't expecting much out of it, but it's a pretty solid game with a bit of silly humor, but definitely not too much. If you're into Strategy RPGs, I recommend it. There's quite a bit of content for an indie game.
I'm mostly just killing time until Assassins Creed Valhalla releases in a few weeks time.
Currently playing Cities: Skylines again, still absolutely love this game. As always, spent hours resorting mods and assets for the games. Last time round I wanted to build a sci-fi city, this time i got rid of all those buildings and focusing on more of an industrial city.
Occasionally dip my toes into WAR: RoR for an mmo and pvp fix. If you can find a good fight, then it's an awesome game, but its very inconsistent (as u'd expect with an rvr game).
Also playing a bit of F1 2020, great game but quite physical with my wheel so not something i can session for a long time.
Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman
I will give it a chance again..alltho i als like path of exile but i dislike that heist league so i ned to find a game to pass time with until poe 2 or better leagues comes

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
