I love both story and progression, play the whole darn thing, I still can't get over seeing how few people get to various points/events/missions; Steam shows you the percentage that have done something in the game. Why do people buy a game if they only intend to play half of it?
What is the most important? Well story in solo player games and progression in multiplayer games. Lets just leave out PVP, puzzles and the rest for now, we game for many reasons it is hard to rank them.

Growing up I first read comic books, then discovered Sci Fi anthologies, gravitating to novellas, then increasingly larger novels (loved when over 800 pages) and finally serial novels, a great joy when there were 10 or more.
See, my entire life has been progression driven, even my hobbies.
But even the Dark Tower series finally came to an (ignanomous) end, as all eventually do, same with EVE in gaming, but hey it was a great ten year run.

The single player RPGs that I like a lot never come to an end for me. A side effect of aging on memory is that I just need to put the game down and come back to it in a couple of years and it's like a brand new story all over again!
Same with movies. I'm currently watching the 3rd of the Matrix trilogy on Netflix. I had forgotten more than I remembered lol.

I don't know if that is just to do with age, some people remember stories better than others. I re-ran a lightly modified scenario with two of the same people in a roleplaying group and they never twigged it. Ok we are talking 10 to 12 years apart, but I would have spotted it, our memories are better in some areas than others.

lol nope classical guitar, fingernails and all. I majored in it in college, changed my major to harp, made my living in college as a harpest until I realized I would play weddings for the rest of my life and then changed my major to musical composition.

I've been playing Outer Lands. It's been awhile since I've played an FPS game. So it's getting me back into the hang of things for Cyberpunk 2077. And Outer Lands has some Cyberpunk like areas in game, so it makes it more appealing so close to launch of Cyberpunk 2077. And like you I've been working on sidequests too, when I run out of those I focus on the main quest, but I figure I'd work on the sidequests first. I might have to play some more of Ghost of Tsushima too cause I still have that installed on my PS4 as well I absolutely love that game! I pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 back in March so I'm looking forward to playing on Thursday!
Playing Prey at the moment. It's actually a pretty nice game. It's a nice mix between Dishonored and Deus Ex with a bit of Fallout here and there. Loving the atmosphere as well. Even when i'm totally safe i feel like i'm about to die, thanks to the really good sound effects.

Yeah, same for me, no long term memory of things that I read or watch, which is why I can go back a few years later to re-read novels or re-watch movies and it's like a whole new story.
Can't tell you how many times I've re-watched movies like Battleship, Independence Day, Conan the Barbarian, The Accountant, Goodfellas, and a few more....just let them run in the background while gaming like a soundtrack in my head.

Grasshopper....graduate to on-line novels...they go for 1000+ chapters if you can find one that interests you:)
Just stay away from the ongoing...waiting on chapters gets old. Look for completed.
Seriously, there are more and more free online novels on many sites that are quite good reading if you search a bit.

Indeed, when an artist relies on the imagination and intelligence of the beholder to make what he produces seem like art, is it art? Damien Hirst got a grade 'E' in A level art, that's the lowest grade you can get without failing and they thought he was a wunderkind, there must be hope for any of us then to become so talented.
Starcraft 2 on ladder (diamond 3)--> Rocket league 1v1 (gold 2)--> PoE Hardcore mode (currently lvl 78 on mayhem HC league).
I was exposed to COVID-19 on thursday (waiting for test result but asymptomatic), so I took a break from SC 2 because i was so mad, i didn't trust myself playing SC 2 competitively cuz i was gonna break shit. I did end up playing sc 2, but did unranked on ladder and dicked around.,
So played up some Rocket League 1v1 which si fun but mindless . . . then a small weekly season of PoE came out and i've been playing that which is weird, i don't usually play this much PoE.
I need to play some Enrtopia online so i can continue to stay productive.
Either way, not interested in Cyberpunk, don't think i'd like it, i can barely finish any single player RPG games ever.
I've also spent some time trolling on news websites . . . it is quite fascinating to see how people see an event and come up with ridiculous ways to explain it or interpret things.

I was recreating an Orchestral piece, with chorus and soloist in the synthesizer (that I wrote) and didn't have time or patience for homework.
When it came time for the final project I submitted my Orchestral piece much to the surprise of the professor. I told him I was too busy using the synthesizer for what I actually needed to be bothered with "non work."
I actually got an A.
But I digress ...
I know picasso dropped out of school and I'm sure there are others who did as well. Heck, Dion Warwick went to my music school and did horribly and dropped out and she ended up having a career.

Sure, I know about artists having students. a studio working under them, that's immemorial. But I question in modern art how much of the supposed artists work we see, especially when they barely passed their A level.
As you say it is difficult to be sure about the work practices of current artists, but to me there remains a question mark and as my link showed I am hardly alone in this. He has said of his work himself "I couldn't be fucking arsed to do it", I don't see a parallel with your homework there, your reputation did not depend on your homework and you got an 'A'.

Sorry didn't finish what I was thinking. Had I not submitted that work, had the final project been some very technical thing I would have gotten a C.
I lucked out and I lucked out having a professor who could see "end game."
Not every artist is attuned to being a student. I spent more time on the things I wanted to get from school and no time on the prerequisites. I was lucky I was able to pass them but I can easily see someone concentrating on a few things and failing everything else.
or, as an artist, wanting to explore a certain type of art and having the professors look down upon that type of art. School for the arts is a weird (wonderful/stressful) place.
