I'm leaning more toward awesome but I have no idea where in the DA universe that could be. There aren't any cities like that in it (that I know of) and it didn't look like a city in the fade.

And Solas didn't look mysterious, he looked downright evil. Maybe he got tired of the humans making life miserable for everyone else and leveraged his knowledge of the Fade to take care of things.
Or... maybe he finally met something in the Fade stronger than him.

There are two cities in the trailer. The one starting at 0:29 is Antiva City (port is clearly visible, Royal Palace in the background, stained-glass windows everywhere, a rogue sipping wine in the rooftops..). The one shown at 0:38 is Minrathous (capital of Tevinter).
