Between this video and their recent stream of the boss fight in alpha preview from last week they are making some real progress. Really wishing I bought the alpha 1 access when I had the chance.

I am personally not a huge fan of the floating upward for all the attacks at all. But I would have to actually try it in game to see the feel of it before passing final judgement. I know alot of things look bad but actually are ok when you are playing the game.

I am ok with the floating on longer casting spells or something, just not something as basic as fireball which I assume is one of the base starter spells.

Can you imagine large scale pvp with all these animations. You'll have more neon going on than CP2077.

Btw that blink animation just owned all teleport animations from any game.

Nice to see, as all games balance will be a big concern.

They said is a video a few weeks back, that the partial effects in the game now are what they are using in the game at launch but they are not scaled to the size they should be. Also brightness and layers of the partial effects are not adjusted.

They have also said that client side you will be able to adjust everything to your preferrence when it comes to partial effects.

Skills are fairly standard - particle effects way over the top.
They need to remove the levitation when you cast, if you feel the need to abort during pvp, animation canceling will either not work, or be very hard with this setup

Looks great. Probably foolish of me, but I hope it comes to Stadia, as that's now my preferred game platform. Elder Scrolls runs great on it, so there's no reason not too release more mmorpg titles there!

exactly my thoughts, they need to remove that levitation and spinning around, looks childish and silly and to asian for my like.

I think the effects are nice like Blink and Lava storm but I'm worried how distracting it might be when many players are using the skills at the same time. It might have to be toned down which is a pity.

I dont like jumping in the air for so many abilities its gonna be bad for pvp with the stuns and interupts the player will get

Steven has already mentioned some of the animations will be grounded for the mage (the fire ball animation is going to be reworked to be grounded) based on feedback so the devs are paying attention to this kind of feedback luckily.

I would hope they rework their entire thought process.

The mage shouldn't be jumping in the air that looks stupid.

Several looked like lasers instead of conjuring magic. The meteor came out of his hands, throws up some balls in a fast sequence and comes back down as meteor not liking the thought process there.
Everything should be conjured up from source,a Meteor storm from the sky/fueled by the sun/elements and not shooting out of his hands.
it looks to me like the team watched too much Thor and wanted to create a sort of LOKI.Then i have to wonder,is is this some corner cutting lazy approach to not utilize a staff/wand as well having to make a more robust animation with the weapon?

I'll know when it looks acceptable, this doesn't,it looks cheesy/corny.Not a fan of Drain spells and most gamers SHOULD know why.A dev team is never going to give you a super powerful attack that also draisn for a ton of HP,so you'll get a half assed spell that would better serve you if using a powerful nuke and ending the battle quicker. If a drain spell ever was actually useful players would just spam it 24/7.
