We heard this line "feature jump puzzles, a boss fight featuring new mechanics, and new loot." month after month and scene after scene. Yet there are still cloned scenes, scene missing maps, stupid jump puzzles that no one uses and all bosses are all the same, and LOTT sucks!!!!
There is a reason that this game has hit a milestone of the least amount of people playing since it was started.
I don't think this game can be labeled as an MMO any longer.

Tons of sponsored articles, even advertisements to buy Windows or some hardware... I only still visit it for the actual news, but they are becoming more and more scarce.

MMORPG.com sold out long ago. The last few years this website has gotten worse and worse. The quality of the articles, spelling, grammar mistakes, some questionable writers, maybe even ghost writers. Tons of sponsored articles, even advertisements to buy Windows or some hardware... I only still visit it for the actual news, but they are becoming more and more scarce.
Any good alternative to mmorpg? PM please, i'm interested.
Well that is all your views as players not playing still calling the game a scam. fact is this last release is pretty awesome. that and the population is still growing. my guild in the last month has had 12 new players join and we are very healthy. We are not the biggest guild in the game by any means and there is over 4k players lol.
They unlocked a lot of stuff and moved a tonne of new non store stuff in this last release to compete with the store skins.
The game is not going to vanish. that is garbage that has been spewed for what 5 years by a few of you lol every year every post you say the same yet here we are release 86 and moving forward with more new stuff lol.
Was it not one of you that said you would eat a hat if ep2 every came out? best start chewing you have about 3 years to get that thing choked down. ep2 early access zones have been a blast and the new wells of Aldar is pretty slick. first complete new zone non cloned.
I have not yet seen the new big boss in this zone we have not figure out how to summon him, that and how to activate the protection ward for some of the areas in the zone.
there is also a completely new monster type coming which will be another race of some sort. not related to the Well of Aldar. as the well residence are long gone and old the ancient floating domain remains so far.
There is no "Scam" what part of the game is a scam? its free to play with a store that sells skins like every other mmo today lol. you dont have to pay a thing in the store to play or to have fun.
I still play it 8+ years now. and its not because I put any money into the store stuff its because there is new content every month and the game is always getting more and more things to do and to build. the road map looks good and many of the features they promised are still making their way into the game which is what many Kickstarters hoped for... the only negative that I see is the time frame which has been slow for getting the features out... but it still happens for those that have been waiting
Just keep pouring money into it and one day it might reach the level of a "worthy" mention on any reviewer's video. In the mean time this game is 7+ years old and no one ever mentions one good thing from it. Newer released games and WoW classic clones are more popular than SotA will ever be. It was and still is a poster child example that no matter how much money was spent in development, Richard Garriott will find a way to screw it up!

If they're having fun, they aren't 'throwing money in this pit'. They're paying whatever they're paying to play and have fun. It's absolutely no different than paying for any other game to have fun. In fact, we're all throwing our money into a pit whenever we pay for entertainment. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Let them have fun and spend their money like they want.

Your presumption of their inevitable failure has no more basis than any other since the game's release. That they are still trudging along despite their limited audience suggests they don't need a great deal of revenue to maintain operation while still chipping away at expanding the game for the future.

Why continue to come to a site you feel sold out long ago for actual news when you feel the integrity of it compromised. Surely there must be a preferable source in your view.
