when you write on kickstarter estimated, yes estimated maybe some delays but estimated release date December 2018 that means estimated full release of game is december 2018!

They were very public on all of their socials, and to the media about that kickstarter estimate date being for Alpha 1, not release.

Interview given on May 3rd, 2017:

"So we have planned for the end of the year our friends and family invite only alpha [Alpha 0] and you know we're aiming to have obviously as early as possible within next year access to our first closed alpha [Alpha 1 Phase 1]. I believe we have the expected date on the Kickstarter as December of 2018, obviously we're working towards making that as you know earlier as possible"

I need to mention that every pack have same estimated delivery date even Explorer pack which costs 25$ and you dont get any alpha/beta but you get 1 month of game time which means 1 month of full game time and some bs ingame and guess what? Estimated delivery date Dec 2018.

Apparently from the interviews they did back then, they input that date for their Alpha 1 package page and it applied to all of their packages. It was a complete newbie mistake from people who never ran a kickstarter campaign before and it was something they clarified with their backers all the time.

As i said it is easy to take that date you or them and say it is for alpha.

Well yah, because if you look at the date of that interview I linked, it was 2 days after their kickstarter started that they confirmed the december 2018 date as their Alpha 1 start date... something they delivered on.

"Kickstarter Alphas is currently scheduled to launch in 2018, with Betas following after that. Note, this schedule is subject to change based on development milestones."

Alpha 1 Phase 1 began in December 2018.

Alpha0 is what they call Pre Alpha (word game) and it started Dec 15 2017.

Their Pre-Alpha was called Alpha 0 because unlike any other studio before them, they opened their Pre-Alpha up to the public to test.

Real Alpha started or how they call it Alpha1 May 28 2020 and it was limited. After that was again Alpha1 for several days Dec18-21 2020 (just to say Alpha started 2020?)

The real Alpha started December 2018 with the launch of Alpha 1 Phase 1 (Apocalypse). That build is the exact same build as Alpha 0 and our current Alpha 1 from the perspective of backend progress. The only difference is what the players got to interact with and test in terms of assets loaded on the front end.

They are clearly in huge delay and they are starting acting like robert by selling items in shop where you cant even see how item is going to look ingame and making streams and videos about things which even they admit it is in early stage of development.

I'd say they're about 1 year behind on their original estimates because they didn't want to settle for 100v100 fights. But I think Steve's original estimate of 2020 for launch was insane for the features he was promising. The truth is, this development team is hitting milestones in an industry competitive time frame. The problem is that the super aggressive original launch date set because the Kickstarter needed an estimate from them, is stirring up a bad case of unment expectations, and shooting an otherwise top notch studio in the foot.

The Revisionist Force is strong with this one.  Not like we haven't seen this before... ad nauseum. You'd think we would learn.  But I guess humans will be humans.

I'm not sure how pulling up recorded interviews, panel announcements, and sourced proof of their development timeline and how it's evolved with the punches thrown is "revisionist" but ok. Has Intrepid made things confusing for the layman to understand by changing their testing terms in the past, and having all of these inbetween milestone tests? Absolutely. It's part of the downside of that open development double edge sword they're always talking about.

Just because I'm presenting information don't think I'm picking a side here. I just want to make sure people have all the right facts so they can be educated with their anger, or their understanding. Personally, it's fascinating to look closely into their process  for me as it shows just how hellish development can really be for devs.
