    Wrong. It's an opinion.

If you wish to prove it to be fact, please show me your conclusive evidence.

Not entire coat, it obviously can't reach some parts of it's back but for the most part yes it does clean itself.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying dogs aren't good pets, but they're more suited to insecure people who need to feel important.

Wow, that's cool. So I guess you never need to bathe it, right?

Hardly ever do we bathe them and they don't stink bad.  They sometimes smell like grass from being outside but never do any of them reek.  The last time we bathed them was probably 8 months ago to a year.

EDIT: The main reason we bathe them is to get rid of any fleas that may be living on them.  They don't smell, it's more of a grooming thing to keep their coats shiny.

So what this shows is that there are a small minority of dogs that can "sorta kinda" clean themselves, so you've gently dented one of the points I made. Interesting.

I hate dogs. So needy and pathetic. Cats are independant and if you put enough time into developing a relationship with your cat, almost as loving as a dog. (they won't run around in circles panting like an idiot when you enter the room, no.)

Which is cool because they get their very own type of shampoo made for them.

i have two dogs. Lucy and Tobie. they are beautiful and loving dogs.

i honestly dont like cats because they're frikin boring and i'll tell you why. Cats dont want to play with you. Dogs do. Do your cats enjoy going on walks? My dogs love them. Most cats i know just run and hide and sometimes i see them sleeping on top of the couch. sure dogs do that but do cats come up to you when you enter the door when you come home from work or school? My daogs do. And most dogs i see clean themelves. ::::28::

Of what use are humans, for that matter? Of what use is any living thing other than to merely exist?

EDIT: Also, prove to me that when a cat charges a wall and tries to attack nothing that it is practicing for battle as you say. I love all animals but to say Dogs are for people that need to feel important is assinine. Maybe we just like how they look, ever think of that? Maybe I like the sound of barking instead of meowing. Your entire line of thinking is based off the fact that you read a freakin Oscar Wilde quote and/or story, play, poem or essay.

Man you remind me of me when I was like 18 lol you know everything just like I did. But the older you get you merely just start to realize how little you really do know.

K i have 2 dogs Gabby and Emily, both pitbull mixes awesome they eat everything image. I also have 2 cats Carly and Cujo(his name fits himimage, he was actually named that at the humane society and we kept it). Cats have there place and dogs have there place, Personally i would like to get either a very small dog or a ferret when there gone.

Oh and cool names Mofur or Gonja. For a blue heeler also i would roam around blue, crazy, bubba, you know just names that come to your mind while your starin at that dog. I also took names that i would never name my kids (sorry to the people with the names i mentioned or with family members with the names no offenseimage).

My cat is addicted to people. Whenever he hears the front or back door open, no matter what he's doing, he runs there to greet whoever walked into the house. He also always tries to get peoples attention to pet him or play with him.

Generalizing isn't always good. All cats have different personalities, same with dogs.

Yeah Tick is the same (hes the black one... blacker one lol) he LOVES people, he will charge up to anyone and try and make friends... hes a really good natured dog. On the other hand Flea is not a people person at all... and has made many a small child cry when shes told them in no uncertain terms to back off lol.

You call dogs stupid, yet you suggest a CAT? An animal that knows little more than to sleep and eat? Dogs live to please their master its true, but a cat is a useless creature that does little more than cover your furniture with hair.

Yes, but cats haven't evolved artifically and if left to their own devices they will forget you in a heartbeat.

Some people prefer a pet that can't possibly survive without them and some people prefer a pet that can survive using its own instinct. Dogs are so instinctively lost they crap in the street without a second thought and can't even look after their own personal hygiene. Cats, on the other hand, will clean themselves regularly and will always bury their fecal matter rather than subject small children to diseases by unloading in the street.

Different pets for different types of people I guess.

Funny...I saw a cat crap in the street just the other day. I guess there goes that "always" arguement.

There are two kinds of people in this world. People who pick their nose.. and liars.

Hmm all you need to do is "train" the dog where to crap.. my dogs crap at the back of my yard in the compost.. everytime, and they do not even try on walks.

If you're gonna tell me cats act like they're on acid, please explain how a dog chasing its tail for half an hour is perfectly normal behavior. My dogs never chase their tails, and one of my dogs, Josie, has the cleanest toenails I have ever seen on a dog. They are spotless and she cleans them often. She also cleans herself regularly.

LOL. So the fact that "your" dogs don't chase their tails means that the argument that dogs pointlessly chase their tails is moot? Thanks for the laugh. And the fact that your dog picks her nails means she has an instinctive personal hygiene program? Hilarious.

    WOW
so i guess cats have "instinctive personal hygiene progams" too?
    what a stupid statement

Hey firemagic, I am just going to start calling you wheelchair boy...  Maybe you were in a bad mood yesterday, or maybe you got bit in the ass by a dog...  But spare us from your "dogs are for insecure people" shit, it is petty generalizations like this that really point to a person's overall intellect...  You had some pretty well thought out posts in the past, but due to these mindless and arrogant statements, I am chalking you up as a wanker now...

I have a 70 lb. chocolate lab, and he is a complete idiot most of the times...  However, he makes  the best guard dog around... I used to live in South Minneapolis, definitely a spotty neighborhood, our dog helped prevent a couple break in attempts to our cars and homes, needless to say, our cat would greet an intruder at the door hoping for a stroking...  Dog is man's true best friend...  The fierce loyalty displayed by my dog is unmatched by most of my friends even...
