[...] Got the fancy Bat'leth, got the first upgrade and then said to heck with it, since all the other rewards on that tree just make the thing better and better and I've no interest in that fighting style.
Also doesn't help that unless you swap ALL your away team over to Bat'leth'a also they kill steal from you by shooting the guy you want to fight and thus rob you of counting that fight towards the goal.
Same for the ambush space kill "tree", wear an enemy down, 50% hull and striped shield, go battle cloak and turn in position for the final blow - and a klingon NPC ship shoots them out...
For the melee tree, sadly nope. It ain't just upgrades for the Bat'leth, also has an account-wide unlock for it (which is pointless if you don't melee with your captains), and also an account-wide ground trait, which is pretty good actually.
Bought and returned Marvel Avengers in less then 60 min play time. I'm a superhero Geek and I hated that game so fast.
Instead I spent my money on Immortal Fenyx Rising. I'm about 2hr into it. It's on sale on the epic store. Modern Zelda feel. Cheeseie cute story. Open world and great combat system. So far, it's fun.
A bloody good game, even if some criticisms could be directed its way. I should probably try Armada 2 too, but given some unnecessary changes, I'm not that keen on it(plus, apart from the rest of Eldar, I got what I came for ; Corsairs and Chaos deserve a shoutout as does the general cutscene design). Plus I'd've preferred someone else as a protagonist, Spire getting lost in the Warp(basically) is silly.
I've been mostly away from gaming entirely with some kind of sinus/ear infection. What little time I have put into gaming has been with a demo of Timberborn. It's a survival city builder. It's still quite a ways out, but it has been interesting. I suspect strongly that there's a 'single way to do things' but it is buried pretty deeply. Building too fast seems to be a huge no-no, which makes it seem like you should be watching the game more often than issuing commands.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
