What is the best FPS MMORPG

I miss my MMORPG's, but love the first person feel. Project entropia bites, and wasn't really a good FPS either, and Face of Mankind looks to be the same. Can anyone recomend anything?

Battle Field 2. Gain points to gain rank to gain access to new guns to gain better advantage at killing the enemy to gain points faster to gain more rank to unlock more weapons that gain more advantage to gain points faster to gain rank faster to..... Its rather adictive.

Endless Ages is decent if you can get past quite how incredibly weird it all is. There's also Neocron 2 (although that isn't a proper FPS) if you are into that sort of thing.

That sounds more like RPG elements, not an MMORPG.

Neocron was the only decent MMORPG with FPS in it that ive played.

Actually, I would suggest Planetside. It's a great MMOFPS with a constant world and some great fighting. The battles can reach 399 people (and often do), and there is a huge selection of vehicles including medium tanks, assault aircraft, large troop dropships, and even cheap ATVs. There is also a great variety of infantry weapons, including sniper rifles, shotguns, pistols, medium assault rifles, and even knives.

There are 3 factions in Planetside, each with their own unique weapons. Here's a nice video of the Terran Republic (their colors are red and black):

The actual movie is about 6:30 long, and it's definately worth the slow part at the beginning.

All true however Planetside is hardly an MMORPG, all there is to do is fight, no crafting, no exploration, no PvE, no possessions, no nothing (not that there is anything wrong with that, but the original poster did ask for an MMORPG).

but i dont know i played Neocron and SWG is kinda fps buts its more of 3rd person shooter lol

I played that and for me it sucked hard. There was no way to invert the mouse, for that there can be no excuse.

WWII online has many a die hard fan and is an MMOFPS, no crafting but I don't think crafting is neccesarily a pre-requisite to being considered and MMOG. Planetside is an MMOFPS also and has its die hard following also.

Those two are worth the try.

There is not a high-budget MMOFPS on the market. By mmofps I mean something deus ex style, only with more skills, crafting is such. Neocron is coolest of them all by my opinion, but I don't see alot of people playing it.

I guess the reason that there are so little of them is that they require much more server bandwidth than RPG's, therefore seriously increasing maintenance costs.

gunzonline is pretty nice, free too. Not really an mmog though, but still pretty fun, especially if you like fps.
