Like, how making a toggle (a fucking toggle, a tick-box) to already existing in-game effects is a thing worth a news? I mean - whole patch notes aside - with all due respect to them, unless they hide 99% of the content behind this xpac (which we all know from livestreams that it's nothing revolutionary so far), it just makes their staff look like a bunch of interns learning new software as they got hired yesterday. I simply cannot comprehend how other development teams are making leaps forward and brag about that with success (who doesn't love to see their fav game get regular chunks of sweet updates) , while aNet seems to be still crawling after all these years, helpless to keep their game up to the standards and implementing things that should be by default day-1. Not even mentioning overhauling most outdated parts of the game. Even WoW does better in such terms. And please don't bring up comparison between team sizes. ANet is still few hundreds strong according to LinkedIn, even if 1/3 of that is pure designers/programmers, it's still unimaginably lazy stance they keep up. And if they made a game that big without proper tools to utilize years ahead to easily change things around, still their fault.

Another thought on a perosnal side - making game even less visual-appealing on demand isn't quite a development goal, lol. And this game is still "top5" in 2021 mmo lists around the web. The sentiment is strong with people...

I don't think this was article worthy, but it is something players can appreciate.

The toggle is much appreciated. Anything that reduces unneccessary and unwanted particle bloat is a miracle, and this lets people enjoy the convenience of these legendaries without the look-ruining effects. Now how about a toggle that lets me turn off other people's eye cancer?

The bigger deal for me is the Dragonstorm leechers. It's good content, and can be really enjoyable and profitable with a good server, but most runs were completely ruined by large numbers of afk leechers upscaling the event. Thank fuck they fixed that.

It's information regarding a requested feature being implemented in a MMORPG many play. That's newsworthy on a MMORPG related site and I expect it would have been briefly covered regardless of how active the genre is otherwise.
