Assassin's Creed (sort of). The world building in AC honestly feels like it's built for an MMO. The maps are expansive and feel alive. The combat not so much, would need an overhaul. Throw in territory control and some sieges and it would be *chefs kiss*
The next one in the series seems to be going in that direction.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
Honestly, there are a lot of MMOs that would be better as single-player RPGs without all the stupid free-to-play b.s. and general hive-mind efficiency obsession.
This was my thought as well. I can't of any single-player or multi-player RPG that would be better or even decent as an MMO. MMOs are about dumbed down gameplay with broad appeal. Single and multiplayer titles are about focusing narratives, designs, and game mechanics that just don't work well with hundreds or thousands of other players in a single server.
There are several MMOs I think would have been much better as single player, multi-player, or small server shared worlds rather than MMOs - EQ2, LotRO, DDO, Neverwinter, and several others would be better as limited player shared world RPGs.
@laserit and @olepi - Fallout 76 public servers hold 24 players. Private servers hold 8. You randomly join a server when you select a public world. You can also select people on your friends list and join their world.
I believe now that If I really want an immersive exciting adventure with my friends, play a coop game and I love the idea of have our own 40+ servers. I look forward to hopefully seeing those numbers expand in the future.
I need a massive virtual world, one that we have yet to see, to tie me long term to a new MMORPG.
I'd love a Dawn of War MMO, like if they took Eternal Crusade and made it into an MMO as opposed to just a PvP Arena game.
Add in map conquest, like it matters in DoW, with control points, and rewards, timed campaigns.
The depth of a game that could be made, would be amazing.
Keep the Sternal Crusade Combat, and just built of a Huge MMO Map World, like what DOW offers.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
Where to start as there are some many? The most important factor for me is the setting and with that in mind I'd choose (in no particular order and not all true RPGs):
Valkyria Chronicles (because tanks!) Ring of Red (because mecha-tanks!) Suikoden Vagrant Story Castlevania Chrono Trigger Warhammer 40K (there actually was a WoW-like MMO in development that got canceled) Neuromancer/Shadowrun/Cyberpunk Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale Mass Effect Dragon Age Vampire theMasquerade The Witcher Tyranny Planescape Torment Darkest Dungeon Demons-/Dark Souls/Bloodborne
I'm sure I forgot a lot. There is just so much potential, so many incredible IP's that would work perfectly as an MMORPG and yet all we get are the next 100 survival 'MMOs'/Bless version 9.0/random asian rng grindfest no. 1000 or the new sh.. cryptotrash!
There are two that come to mind for me and I don't think anyone has said either and honestly I don't know why they would haha
Kingdom Hearts: This one is pure nostalgia for me as I grew up playing these games and I play through them every few years. Used to be every year. I think a lot could be done with this. Imagine a character creator where you can make a human, or a mouse, a duck, whatever the hell goofy is supposed to be, etc...
Imagine a raid where you have to fight classic Disney villains. Plus as a MMO the worlds can be huge and epic. Kingdom Hearts 3 on a grand scale. Not only that but as they add worlds they go do Marvel, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pixar, Fox properties.
NGL, a darkest dungeon MMO would both attract me and kinda scare me at the same time.

I would like to see a Game of thrones MMO, just to see more that the usual 3 faction PvP in a low magic setting with an occasional dragon. Heroes of Might and Magic for a high magic setting.
Vampire the masquerade is intriguing, for a multi faction setting too, but not something I really want to immerse into.
I am a sucker for everything related to Warhammer fantasy . Kind of feel that the Warhammer IP would have been a great setting for the New World mmo. Btw anything about darkest dungeon screams warhammer fantasy to me aswell.
But The setting that first came to mind as a mmo I would love to be spending my time in , is from the game Horizon Zero Dawn. That one I feel have some great potential.
There isn't a single game I would put up for MMORPG conversion. Nothing of quality has been created at all in relation to new and original concepts for MMORPG games in well over a decade.
This entire genre is washed up and watered down. Why would I even bother considering an RPG to MMORPG? I would literally just be playing a cookie cutter MMO with lore from my favorite RPG. No thanks.
I would love to see an NHL hockey MMO where practices and games would be played online with friends, acquiring and leveling up skills would be a thing, positions could be chosen and maybe even have real people act as coaches during games and practices. Heck, even allow people to log in to your team's games and watch...! I'm not talking console here either.

MMO is pretty much just a cash shop and dumbed down gameplay.
