I'm interested because they have a lifetime subscription. I have to say, that worked out well for me in LOTRO, not so well with The Secret World.
Anyways, $400 for a lifetime (as opposed to $10,000.00) for Pantheon, puts it just at the brink of my comfort level.
I may roll the dice on this one.
Did you playtest it already? Because another LoTRO this isn’t.
/Cheers, Lahnmir
I have not. I always like Ultima Online though.
That said, I'm pretty satisfied with LOTRO right now. Standing Stone Games seems to be doing quite a bit right.
I don't know if they updated the graphics or maybe my machine can just handle them now, but it seems in LOTRO the far distance views contain towers/mountains/trees that weren't there when I played it years ago.
I always return to LoTRO, always. My biggest regret in gaming is not getting the lifetime subscription for that game. I have tested Fractured, it is no Legends of Aria but it sure as hell isn’t LoTRO either.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

I wish you'd fill me in on your impressions. I don't wanna waste the money if it isn't that good.
It is clunky, it is also very, very open, you make your own fun and goals. It could be the next Albion Online, it just needs a fair bit of work. Its been quite some time ago since I last played so perhaps its got much more meat on its bones though, I didn't log in during the October Alpha for instance. There also isn't an NDA, the clunkiness combined with lack of direction always gets to me but perhaps after you watch some gameplay videos and impressions you might think differently.

I wonder if the beastmen run around as human bodies with animal heads or if they look like legit bears/wolves/etc.
Looks to be the former, humanoid body types, animal heads, but someone who's played might be able to confirm.

Interesting, let’s see what a cash and talent infusion can do.

Do you like the game?
I value your opinion.
I don’t really know, as unsatisfactory as that may sound. It is isometric, which I love, but not in MMORPGs. It is very open world, which isn’t really my thing unless the world building is extremely strong, as in Ryzom strong, and it has a ‘made with Unity’ vibe. Which is logical because it is made with, well, Unity.
That doesn’t mean it is bad, I guess it means it isn’t really for me to be honest. It is solid from what I have played and I do think it can offer a lot of fun to those into ‘learning my spell loadout by the fire and then head into the wilds to fight and gather’ when further developed. I am however starting to think that might not be me. I’ll try to stick with it a bit longer next Alpha to really see if it clicks, I just have so many great games to play at the moment

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
